Updated Louisiana Congressional election results: independents and smaller parties swing both districts

The Secretary of State’s website shows updated vote totals.
In Congressional District 2, the votes received by Green Malik Rahim and Libertarian Gregory Kahn made up more than the margin of difference between indicted Democratic incumbent “Dollar” Bill Jefferson and congressman-elect Joseph Cao.

Several alternative candidates were on the ballot in two Saturday U.S. House races in Louisiana.
In the Second District race, won by Republican Anh Cao, Green Malik Rahim received 1,880 votes (2.8%) and Libertarian Gregory Kahn 548 votes (0.8%).
