According to these messages, Ron Paul has regularly met with many A3P members, even engaging in conference calls with their board of directors. Ron Paul’s racist politics and affiliations are already well known, being viciously anti-immigrant, anti-abortion and against gay marriage — not to mention having authored the racist “Ron Paul Papers” and receiving financial support from other white power groups (pictured with Don Black from stormfront.org). Hard to believe Ron Paul draws some support from the left and the occupation movements, especially now that it is confirmed Ron Paul hangs out with straight up racist hate groups.

We put extra effort in ruining the life of A3P webmaster Jamie Kelso. On top of being on the board of directors of A3P, former $cientologist, and high ranking Ron Paul organizer, he also is the account owner of german nazi forums and store nsl-forum.org, rhs-versand.com.

This claim has been circulated many places on the web, but I have yet to see specific messages to back up the claims.

A couple of disclaimers:

•  I don’t think anyone is going to mistake me for a Ron Paul apologist. I’ve been critical of Paul for various reasons, including but not limited to the issues raised by “the newsletter controversy.” Believe this: If I find anything credible anywhere directly connecting Paul to A3P and organizations of its type, I’ll shout it from the rooftops.
• I’ve only spent a few hours researching the dump, running searches on strings I would expect to shed light on the claims above.  There’s a lot of data to sift through, so what I’ve found so far may very well not be the final word on the subject.

Those two things said, I’ve found nothing really substantiating the two claims in the communique quote above. To wit:

1. A “disturbingly high amount of members” of A3P “are also involved in campaigning for Ron Paul.”

   This is a pretty fuzzy claim in the first place, insofar as “disturbingly high” is a subjective evaluation and “involved in campaigning for” can mean a lot of things.

   What I found were several references to A3P members attending Paul campaign events; a couple of references to A3P members talking with low-level Paul volunteers whom the A3P people perceived as “with us” or “pro-White;” and one suggestion that a film/video guy who had done work for the Paul campaign be approached about doing the same kind of work for A3P.

   None of the campaign events mentioned were portrayed as Paul intentionally addressing A3P-type audiences — it was stuff like “we went to see Paul speak at CPAC” and “we went to Paul’s GOP convention rally in Minneapolis” and so on.

2. “Ron Paul has regularly met with many A3P members, even engaging in conference calls with their board of directors.”

   The closest thing I found to Paul “meeting” with A3P members were references like “managed to get my picture taken with Paul when I attended the Minneapolis convention rally.”

   I found references to A3P’s board of directors, and I found references to conference calls, but I found no references to Paul or his campaign being involved in said conference calls.

Does this mean those two claims are false? NO, it doesn’t. I may have missed something. Like I said, it’s a lot of stuff and I’ve only spent a little time sifting through it.

But those claims are strong enough that the burden of proving them falls on those making them. If the material to substantiate the claims is there, someone who can find it needs to highlight it and point it out instead of just leaving it buried down in the pile of garbage it’s embedded in.

Here’s the picture I get from my limited swim through the A3P sewer:

The A3P types consider the Paul movement, and the wider “paleo” movement (other referenced people, pubs and groups in the dump included Pat Buchanan, Thomas diLorenzo, The American Conservative magazine, the John Birch Society, et. al), to be “implicitly pro-White” (their terminology) and are attempting to build a “bridge” (their terminology) between those movements and “explicitly pro-White” (their terminology) groups including (named in the dump) A3P, White News Network, Stormfront, et. al.

I don’t think that belief on the part of A3P types is entirely unreasonable, given that the Rothbard/Rockwell “paleo strategy” which Paul used to raise money in the 80s and 90s was intended to specifically cater to such tendencies.

On the other hand, I think the A3P types are probably:

1. Under-estimating the extent to which Rothbard, Rockwell and Paul were using the “paleo strategy” to cynically exploit them — suckering them for political “seed money” and so forth — as opposed to genuinely make common cause with them; and
2. Seriously over-estimating the extent to which the now-existing Paul movement, which is not, for the most part,  a product of the “paleo strategy,” is composed of people likely to be sympathetic to the A3P-type fringe.

So far, I’m not seeing anything that constitutes a serious indictment of Paul, his campaign, or the movement surrounding his campaign — or at least nothing above and beyond other long-known plausible indictments of any or all of the three.

But, once again, this is just my initial impression, based on limited time and limited skills for digging through the dump. If anyone else is finding or seeing anything I’m missing or mis-interpreting, by all means let me know in comments, via contact form, etc.

As a side note, while I consider myself a member of Anonymous (expect us!) and while I’m happy to see A3P exposed, I was not involved in this operation nor did I have any foreknowledge of it.

Dr. Paul is a licensed physician who practiced obstetrics and gynecology prior to entering politics, assisting in the delivery of more than 4,000 babies over the course of his medical practice. He does personally hold socially conservative Christian values and believes that life begins at conception, but unlike many others in the Republican party he believes the federal government has no right to impose his socially conservative values on the entire nation. Dr. Paul consistently opposes a federal ban on abortion and believes quite reasonably that the question should be left up to the states (video here and here). Dr. Paul voted against the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, a bill designed to criminalize the transportation of pregnant minors across state lines with the intention of the minor obtaining an abortion. Those are pretty progressive politics for a socially conservative pro-life Christian.

Ron Paul is NOT anti-gay. MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell proclaimed, “[w]ithout Ron Paul in this race, we would never hear one sensible thing said about marriage equality on the presidential debate stage… and no American politician is in a position to change more minds about marriage equality than Ron Paul. He is not speaking to the converted; he is speaking to conservative Republicans, he is speaking to evangelical Christians, he is going into the halls of the staunchest opponents of marriage equality in this country and he is telling them a truth so clear and so powerful that he is surely changing minds.” Dr. Paul opposes a federal ban on gay marriage, and believes “[a]ll voluntary associations, whether they’re economic or social, should be protected by the law.” In fact he doesn’t just believe it, he expressed it on Fox News at a Republican presidential debate broadcast when he would have had much to gain politically from pandering to evangelical homophobia. Dr. Paul voted against the Same-Sex Marriage Resolution, a 2006 joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment providing that marriage in the U.S. consists only of the union of a man and a woman and that federal and state constitutions can not be construed to require marriage or legal incidents of marriage be conferred in other unions. Dr. Paul voted to repeal the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. When interviewed by arch-conservative John Lofton on his evangelical right-wing radio program The American View, Ron Paul eloquently defended a position of tolerance for people of all sexual orientations in a situation when it would have been politically beneficial for him to confirm the bigoted views of the listening audience. LOFTON: “Let’s shift gears here to another topic: Homosexuality. Do you believe it’s a sin?” PAUL: “I’m not as judgmental about that, probably because of my medical background.” LOFTON: “Do you believe that God says it’s a sin?” PAUL: “Well, I believe a lot of people understand it that way, but I think everybody’s God’s child too, so I have trouble with that.” Repent America, an evangelistic organization in the extreme theocratic right wing that is “focused on the public proclamation of the Gospel to further the Kingdom of God”) have even used this interview in attack ads against him because he does not believe homosexuality is a sin.

Ron Paul is NOT anti-black. Nelson Linder, President of the Austin chapter of the NAACP, a member of Dr. Paul’s constituency who has known Dr. Paul for 20 years, unequivocally dismissed charges that the Congressman was a racist and stated that the reason he was being attacked as a racist in the press was that he was a threat to the establishment (audio). Ron Paul is the only candidate from the two major parties who has consistently opposed the “War on Drugs,” which the NAACP has rightfully denounced as the last bastion of institutionalized racism in America. Dr. Paul is the only candidate from a major party who has vowed to issue a Presidential pardon to all nonviolent drug offenders (1:38 into this video), the disproportionate majority of whom are disadvantaged minorities unfairly targeted by law enforcement for the color of their skin (A black man’s view on Ron Paul being racist: Part 1, Part 2).

Ron Paul DID oppose the Civil Rights Act of 1964, for exactly the reason quoted in the article: “The Civil Rights Act of 1964 not only violated the Constitution and reduced individual liberty; it also failed to achieve its stated goals of promoting racial harmony and a color-blind society.” Dr. Paul DOES NOT oppose civil rights and fully supported the Act’s repeal of Jim Crow laws, but he was deeply disturbed by the expansion of the power of the federal government over the behavior of private individuals.

Ron Paul DID co-sponsor a bill to overturn Roe v. Wade, for the same reason he voted against a Constitutional ban on abortion: he believes it to be out of the jurisdiction of the federal government.

A number of UNATTRIBUTED newsletters with Ron Paul’s name in the title did come out in the early 1990′s containing baldly racist and homophobic material. His response to that material is telling : “The quotations in The New Republic article are not mine and do not represent what I believe or have ever believed. I have never uttered such words and denounce such small-minded thoughts.” This can easily be confirmed by looking into publications and recordings directly from Ron Paul himself from both before and after the newsletters in question, including the following three-part recording of an educational program about juror’s rights from 1989, in which Dr. Paul expresses his reading of and admiration for staunch abolitionist Lysander Spooner while simultaneously defending the principle of jury nullification of unjust legislation: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

Regarding immigration, VDARE (dedicated to limiting immigration) writes

Now, at last, Paul has finally given a comprehensive discussion of his views on immigration—in his latest book Liberty Defined, where he lists his positions on fifty different issues.

As with the claim that Paul has had phone conferences with the A3P board of directors, I’d be interested in seeing more concrete evidence that Kelso is a high ranking organizer for Ron Paul.

Although he is currently running for president and serving in the US House as a Republican, Ron Paul ran for president in 1988 as a Libertarian and remains a life member of the Libertarian Party. In 2008 he endorsed Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin in the general election.

General Comments, to Mr. Axelrod’s: prepared speech: Great delivery, little substance, a great deal of misinformation.

“Where’s the beef?” is our first observation. We heard 65 minutes of spend, spend and spend some more and zero minutes of cuts in government spending. For over 100 years this government has operated outside the confines of our constitution and from all indications by Obama this is to be prolonged this year and into the foreseeable future of his presidency. One observation made by one of our members is that “Obama believes that we the people work for the government not the government for the people”. This is more than verified by the fact that under this administrations government employees are paid on average double the national income average. It was also clearly articulated that Americans are much too stupid to decide on their own what they need or want and that only government is able to make such monumentally complex decisions. Pandering to the DNC stepdaughter the NEA and AFT teachers unions was a repetitive theme. We did not hear about our national debt that is projected with last month’s furtherance to exceed $17 trillion by 2013. With all that spending we also heard tax and tax and spend and spend. An observation by another member of our board was that “you can’t raise yourself by the handle on a bucket while standing in it”, something this president most obviously does not understand. Paying our fair share was a repeated issue, the fact that the top 5% of American earners pay more in taxes that the entire middle class, and that the bottom 50% pay no taxes at all seems not to enter the convoluted Obama equation. The concept that more government spending of borrowed money will improve American middle class economic position is simply ludicrous.

Who is responsible for this situation we find ourselves in? According to the president, congress, Republicans, rich people, business, corporations, greedy Americans, in fact anyone and every one but Mr. President. The fact that Harry Reid and the Obama progressives have bottled up 30 bills from the House in the Senate for many months, addressing those very issues, which is the reality of the situation, was also omitted.

Frankly we find the president out of touch with economic reality and the Republicans not far behind. This speech verified that unlike Clinton’s speech some years ago, we are to enter the era of big and ever-expanding goverment. Indeed of his claimed 3 million new jobs, one million was government employees and two were immigrants. On taxes, we are to play some more with the existing code maybe adding a few thousand more pages to the 27 volumes instead of scrapping the entire mess and replacing it with a flat tax. This you see has nothing to do with the fairness he speaks of; it has a great deal to do with centralization of power in Washington. We will say that Mitch Daniels (R, IN) less than 15 minute speech was clearer better and more to the point. Obama demonstrated above all that he is a TR, Wilson, FDR, LBJ, and Carter progressive, unable to see the deleterious effects those men had on our economy and social structure.

Specific Issues:

He did not address or even skirt about the fact that America is in dire difficulty. He did not speak of the 25 million Americans seeking employment or the 25% of young Americans that can’t find jobs, or the highest unemployment level since 1933. He quoted bogus administration unemployment statistics that don’t count 70% of those unemployed.

On taxes he said the rich don’t pay their fair share, well in reality the highest 1% of American earners pay 37% of Americas collected taxes. He offered no solution to our tax problems and did not address the issue except to indicate we needed to modify the existing code. This has been done for almost 100 years and accomplished nothing. He did not mention that 47 million Americans are on food Stamps, and that half of our citizens pay no taxes whatsoever. In his class warfare, a repetitive theme one can only conclude that we all get the shaft one way or another. If real American values were the actual issues we would have a flat tax and then all Americans would pay an equal share in support of our goverment. “We must increase federal and state taxes to fund schools; universities and colleges” academia must be supported for their unending support of everything progressive.

Regulations are to be expanded; he articulated that under his administration many odious rules and laws had been eliminated, the facts clearly contradict that assertion. Jan 2012 saw the enactment of 40,000 new laws and 14,700 new goverment federal regulations. If that’s a cut…well.

He said he had cut the deficit. Only using Disney World on the Potomac accounting practices is it possible to say that. The actual fact is that for 2011 and projected 2012 not one single dime has been cut from any expenditure.

He told us about GM; well you know Government Motors the company that he had signed over to the UAW in which the government is still the major stockholder and who has paid back less than 2% of the monies loaned through TARP. The government cannot sell the GM held shares they would lose billions. Chrysler that is now owned at least in part by Fiat of Italy, the UAW and you guessed it, the government. Just by the way, the touted sales increases are not year over year but month over month. A realistic comparison would be, what did the American auto industry sell in 1998 and then compare that with today. Sales are down!

Trade. He told us that South Koreans would soon be driving American cars due to the latest free trade agreement with s. Korea, Columbia and Panama. This assertion is far beyond ridiculous. NAFTA over ten years changed our American balance of trade from an annual $5.7 billion surplus to a $64 billion deficit, lost us 10,000,000 manufacturing jobs and over 4,000 manufacturing plants. Clinton by the way in 2003 asserted that Mexicans would be driving Chevies by 2005, We wonder how many GM is selling in Mexico?

On immigration we again heard the odious cry for Amnesty that the DNC has been pushing for decades, hoping against hope to entice all Hispanics into the DNC.

On Energy in which this administration has not shown any leadership at all save the off shoring of virtually everything, we were again informed that green energy was the way to go. Dr. Chu the head of the Department of Energy has wasted $ 6.7 billion on loans to companies that have failed. We were informed that there are ups and downs in this new sector and they would continue throwing American taxpayers monies at more failures. The Keystone pipeline never made it into Mr. Axelrod’s speech. The assertion that we have a larger supply of domestic oil is a lie; the reason the numbers have changed is because of the depression, which has reduced energy consumption across the board. Wind and solar energy, which accounts for less than 3% of the national supply is a loser without government subsidies. In fact that entire energy sector does not demonstrate one single green energy effort that is financially self-sustaining and that includes electric cars. Climate change by the way is just more Green rubbish. We were informed that the Navy is to fund some bird swatter technology so DOD money is now also to be diverted to this losing green proposition.

On infrastructure the long lost socialist memory of FDR’s New Deal, made a miraculous re-emergence with a new spending program based on assumed savings of troops returning home and dividing the savings ½ for infrastructure and ½ in debt reduction. More make believe!

The pie in the sky spending binge is to continue unabatedly. All underwater mortgages are to get a $3,000 cut in their annual mortgage payments the assumed payees will be the fools that actually are paying their mortgages.

Regulations especially in the petrochemical sector and banking will see dramatic increases. Yes we understand, EPA, FCC, FDA, and all the other regulatory agencies that have so stifled American free enterprise in the immediate past will mandate everything that will not make muster in congress or in legislation, or cannot be implemented through the judiciary.

We will again increase the time for unemployment insurance, which is already up to three years, and we will extend the payroll deduction tax reduction, and we will not fund this from any identifiable source.

We will increase taxes on the rich by requiring every rich person to pay at least 30% of his income regardless of origin in federal taxes. This will not even pay for the payroll tax deduction. Someone in DC needs to buy Mr. Axelrod a cheap calculator. “We will consolidate many federal agencies which will save lots of money”, surely just like Homeland security saved a lot of money.

Finally, in the Middle East we will love Israel, we will continue to give one of the highest per capital income nations foreign aid, we will continue to fund the IDF, we will give them anything they want anytime, and we will have joint military exercise with the nations that sponsors more spying operations against us than any other ten nations combined.

And we will finance all the aforementioned issues by borrowing more money from anyone who will loan it to us (not many left) and hock our children’s lives!

The A3P is a minor political party founded in 2010 that supports white nationalism.  It recently nominated independent film director Merlin Miller as its first presidential nominee.

Back in 2008 we were supposed to believe Mitt Romney’s repeated declarations that he was pro-life and a staunch defender of the God endowed family. We were supposed to accept the notion that he was a “conservative” champion of limited government and fiscal responsibility. But the true facts of his political record utterly contradict these falsehoods. Christie, Perry, Cain and Gingrich have been trotted out, endorsed by this or that supposedly “conservative” element, pundit or apologist. But in one way or another, by their own words and the true facts of their record, all stand exposed as “made men” who have been willing in some decisive way to serve the elite faction’s effort to overthrow constitutional self-government and replace it with elitist dictatorship. One has helped the effort to subvert the republic’s moral foundations; another has openly or silently abetted the attack on its constitutional integrity; another has gone along with the elitist takeover of education; or its subversion of the people’s political and territorial sovereignty; or its suffocation of the economic freedom and consequent material strength of the nation. And finally, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum ironically epitomize the depth of the elite faction’s subversion of the republic’s principles, and its substitution of leaders committed to that subversion in place of those, like America’s founders, determined to articulate, maintain and perpetuate them.

Keyes goes on to criticize Ron Paul for his support of States Rights, which he links to the Confederacy, as well as Paul’s libertarian leanings, which he says “ignores the God revering premises of constitutional self-government.”

He also criticizes Santorum for endorsing pro-choice Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter’s primary bid for re-election.

Miller posted the following statement on the announcement:

I’ve been married to my wife for 37 years and we have four wonderful daughters, three of whom also graduated from West Point. We owe our progeny a future and can no longer rely on a system that has been corrupted to its core. Enter the fight with us – to take back our country!

The party was founded in 2010 as a response to the policies of President Barack Obama. Recently, Harry Bertram ran for governor of West Virginia as a member of the party during the 2011 special election, and received 0.35% of the vote.

According to Miller campaign manager Alex Carmichael, “we currently plan to be on the ballots of several states and should have our plans posted soon.”

Rocky Anderson, who recently compared Obama’s lack of prosecution of the Bush administration for war crimes to Ford’s pardon of Nixon in announcing his acceptance of the nomination of the newly formed Justice Party. In the Al-Jazeera article, Anderson says among other things

In addition to that, the Democrats seem to have no more regard for the rule of law as the Republicans … After President Obama took office, one of the first things he said about accountability under the law, particularly for war criminals, was that we should simply look forward and not look backwards … It’s really appalling that anybody in our government would suggest that those who commit these egregious crimes simply be exempt from the application of the law.

Under the Obama administration, not one person responsible for the massive financial fraud leading to the economic disaster from which we’re still suffering … has been subject to criminal prosecution. No one has spent one day in jail for those massive financial crimes.

Lee Wrights, one of several candidates seeking the presidential nomination of the 40-year-old Libertarian Party (H/T to Lee Wrights for the link to the Al Jazeera article).

Among other things, Wrights says in the Al Jazeera article

[If elected president, I would] declare peace – not only with the world, but with ourselves. Americans have got in this mindset of war. Everything’s a war. Our political rhetoric is rife with war. We need peace. Everybody wants to be prosperous. There’s one way to be prosperous – and that’s to be at peace with everyone.

America needs to stop being the nosy neighbour in the crowd, poking our nose into everyone else’s business and trying to tell them what to do, and making enemies because of that … If somebody is coming to America and attacking us, then yeah, we need to go to war and defend ourselves. We need to stop making war for any other reason.

[If elected,] I’d be raising unemployment, particularly in the Washington DC area – because I plan to put a lot of bureaucrats out of work ….

Next is Jill Stein, leading contender for the nomination of the 20 year old Green Party, who is planning on a people’s state of the union response on January 25, the day after Obama’s State of the Union speech on January 24.

Part of Stein’s pitch at Al Jazeera:

The Green New Deal is basically an emergency programme of jobs creation. It is modelled on the New Deal that helped get us out of the Great Depression in the 1930s … Specifically, it would be creating jobs in small businesses and cooperatives at the local level in key areas of the green economy … clean manufacturing, local organic agricultures, public transportation, and sustainable, clean renewable energy. That simultaneously goes a long way to solve the issues of national security and would begin to make wars for oil obsolete.

Lastly, Al Jazeera’s Sam Bollier gets to Jack Fellure, presidential nominee of the Prohibition Party, which was founded in 1869.

A sampling from Fellure:

The biggest problem facing America is the morals. The morals of this country [are] shot. And I’m not just talking about getting drunk and shacking up – I’m talking about conviction, standards, honesty, integrity, righteousness – the whole schmear.

Our country started off with … Christian foundations, Biblical foundations, and we’re so far away from them now we’re not even close. Schools had prayer and Bible readings … When we took that out in 1962 – the Supreme Court said: ‘You can’t do that anymore’ – then our country started down the tubes.

In addition to pitching their ideas, the candidates also discuss the challenges of ballot access, lack of finances and media disinterest for alternative party candidates in the US political system.

At this point the individuals on the list have not necessarily agreed to have their names on the ballot. The Secretary of State’s office will contact each one and ask if they wish to be listed.

The fourteen names include former Congressman Virgil Goode of Virginia, who is believed to desire the Constitution Party’s presidential nomination, although he hasn’t formally announced. The other names are: Philip Berg of Pennsylvania, Laurie Roth of Washington state, Todd Palin of Alaska, Wiley Drake of California, Ed Noonan of California, George Peabody of Hawaii, Marvin Ampelman of Massachusetts, Max Rieske of Michigan, Diane Beall of California, Walter Nayakik of Alaska, Veronica Piva of California, D. Clark Ambassador for Christ (that is his legal name) of California, and Robert Sisilo, who is a U.S. citizen who is not registered to vote and who lives outside the United States.

So, is Todd Palin running for President? No evidence suggests that. The AIP-CA does not need the approval of the candidates in order to submit their names to the Secretary of State. It is highly unlikely, though, that Palin will allow his name to remain on the ballot. Berg, Beall, Noonan, Rieske, Drake and Goode are all likely to give their consent to be listed on the ballot.

Dan Hamburg is a former Democratic Congressman and former Green candidate for Governor of California. John Pinches is a heretofore unknown member of the American Independent Party, but is serving as a Supervisor for Mendocino County until 2015.

“The world will not be near so interesting of a place without Dr. DeTar,” said political activist Janine Hansen of Elko.

DeTar helped Janine Hansen’s brother, Daniel, form the Independent American Party in Nevada in 1968 to support the presidential bid of Alabama Gov. George Wallace.

Hansen called DeTar a dedicated patriot and a brilliant man with a strong command of history and events.

“He could see even then where we headed, the train wreck that America has become,” Hansen said.

DeTar was also an ardent Catholic and critic of the anti-drug organization called Synanon.

A few weeks ago, I declared my intention to run for the office of the President of the United States. I sent out press releases. Some of you saw the headline article posted by WND.com and other sites. I knew I was starting as a total outsider, non-lawyer, non-politician and non-millionaire. However, I knew I was a patriot, a visionary, a veteran talk show host who had always represented the cutting edge issues of the American people, and most importantly I was called to do this by God. Some of you immediately think “religious kook” or “fringe” at the notion of me even saying that.

The truth is, I have never fantasized or imagined being President of the United States. This hasn’t been a career move or positioning for my ego. Instead, God asked me to run — a commoner, a survivor, a mom, and a patriot with REAL ideas of service for a time such as this. I said yes, knowing how it would sound. In a news story in the Christian Post, Jaeger states his goals for the film:

“Both entrenched parties have grown the government way beyond that envisioned by the framers, and worse, they have placed the State in competition with the Church as the ‘author of all charity’ and the ‘source of God-given, inalienable rights,’” Jaeger states.

“Not only that, multinational corporations have hijacked Congress leading to laws that have outsourced American industry, undermined the middle class and eroded the family unit,” he adds. “SPOiLER lays out a strategy whereby a new, or existing, third political party could defeat the DemoPublicans and reinstate Constitutional principles based on traditional Christian values.”

The Florida Tea Party, an officially recognized political party in the state of Florida, was disbanded earlier this month by former party chair Peg Dunmire.

In 2010, the TEA Party gave many state Republicans cause for concern when they filed more than two dozen candidates for office. Most were inactive campaigns for state house of representatives, filed to punish particular Republican legislators. However, the party did get an elected official to convert when Polk County Commissioner Randy Wilkinson changed his registration to join the upstart party and become a candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in District 12. Former chiar Dunmire also raised and spent a significant amount of money in her own campaign for U.S. House, in 2010.

Mitt Romney has taken a lot of heat over his “Romney Care” effort to insure all citizens while he was governor of Massachusetts. And for good reasons. The Massachusetts plan was supposed to accomplish two things; achieve universal health insurance coverage and controlling costs.

An Op Ed piece written by Romney for the Wall Street Journal said, “Every uninsured citizen in Massachusetts will soon have affordable health insurance and the costs of health care will be reduced.” Sounds good – but results were the opposite.

Let’s address cost control first.When implemented, the last day Massachusetts citizens had to sign up for insurance in compliance with the Romney mandate was November 15, 2008. Those failing to show proof of insurance prior to January 1, 2009 would lose their personal exemption for the 2008 state income tax when they filed. In 2009, the penalty increased to 50 percent of the cost of a standard insurance policy.In 2009, the Cato institute estimated that 400,000 Massachusetts residents had failed to buy the required insurance, resulting in significant penalties for persons failing to by insurance mandated by Governor Romney and the state of Massachusetts. Additionally the program greatly over estimated savings, resulting in a $2 billion dollar projected shortfall through 2019. Meanwhile, businesses in Massachusetts with fewer than 50 employees saw their health insurance premiums grow by 14.7 percent between 2006 and 2008, and increase every year since Romney Care was passed. In an attempt to finally try to contain costs, Massachusetts has begun to consider price controls. Which brings me to the subject of this article – that Romney has more in common with President Obama than you know.

Back in 2005, then Governor Romney imposed CO2 emission caps on the six largest and oldest power plants in the state. His administration’s press release said (and I quote):

Governor Mitt Romney today announced that Massachusetts will take another major step in meeting its commitment to protecting air quality when strict state limitations on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from power plants take effect on January 1, 2006.

Massachusetts is the first and only state to set CO2 emissions limits on power plants. The limits, which target the six largest and oldest power plants in the state, are the toughest in the nation.

In addition to reaffirming existing stringent CO2 limits, the draft regulations announced today, which will be filed next week, contain protections against excessive price increases for businesses and consumers. They allow power generation companies to implement CO2 reductions at their own facilities or fund other reduction projects off-site through a greenhouse gas offset and credits program.

In other words, the Romney administration in 2005 essentially did what Barack Obama’s EPA wants to do now. He imposed CO2 emission caps — the “toughest in the nation” — in an effort to curtail traditional energy production. Not only did Romney impose these costly new regulations, he then imposed price caps to keep power companies from passing the cost along to the consumer. The outcome of the cap was Massachusetts’ electrical production it dropped 18% in four years, from over 46 billion megawatt hours to 38 billion. International imports, however, went from 697 million megawatt hours in 2006 to 4.177 billion megawatt hours two years later, and to almost 5 billion megawatt hours in 2009, more than twice the amount imported in any of the previous twenty years. As we have seen in Romney Care, regulation and price controls eventually drive businesses into bankruptcy or relocation to escape increasing costs destroying profitability, while passing increasing costs to consumers.

And if that wasn’t enough, Obama’s Science Czar, John Holdren, helped architect the Romney CO2 emission caps. Again, I’ll let the Romney Administration press release do the talking:

In the development of greenhouse gas policy, Romney Administration officials have elicited input from environmental and economic policy experts. These include John Holden [sic], professor of environmental policy at Harvard University and chair of the National Commission on Energy Policy and Billy Pizer, and economist at Resources for the Future, an environmental policy think-tank based in Washington DC.

This is the same John Holdren who serves as Obama Science Czar and wrote in favor of coercive government population-control policies in the 1970s, and who in 2009, suggested government-imposed redistribution as a cure for “American exceptionalism”.

As for Mr. William A. (Billy) Pizer, well, that’s even more interesting. It seems he is (or was) head of the Department of Treasury’s Office of Environment and Energy whose mandate it is to “… develop, coordinate, and execute the Treasury Department’s role in the domestic and international environment and energy agenda of the United States… as well as contribute to the development of domestic and international policy options to address climate change.”

I don’t think it is unfair to characterize Governor Romney as having more in common with President Obama and the Democratic Party than conservative ideals. Too often I have read on to many blogs or found myself in to many conversations being implored not to ‘waste my vote’ and make sure I vote to nominate a conservative GOP candidate who can win. The refrain I often hear is “anyone but Obama.” Anyone? Really?

Beware of those who are conservatives in name only. We have one shot at this in 2012. We can’t afford “anyone.”

“Well it will generate interest but, then again I didn’t expect to get their support anyway, those people that are other than the white heritage,” said Bertram.

“Oh to me he is bringing it back years. We’re trying to go forward and to me he is going backwards,” said Wesley.

So far, the percentages are: Democratic 50.23%, Republican 46.40%, Mountain 1.90%, independent .97%, American Third Position .35%, write-ins .14%. UPDATE: at 11:15 pm, the newer percentages are Democratic 49.37%, Republican 47.17%, Mountain 2.01%, independent .94%, American Third Position .37%, write-in .14%.

The 2011 special election is the fourth gubernatorial election at which the Mountain Party (West Virginia’s Green Party affilate) has participated. The party’s earlier gubernatorial totals have been: 2000 1.61%; 2004 2.48%; 2008 4.44%.

“Remember remember the 5th of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I see of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot”.

Based on a real event which took place on Nov. 5th, 1605, the opening lines of the Hollywood thriller ‘V for Vendetta’ are memorable. As is the movie’s poster slogan taken from a quote by Thomas Jefferson, “People shouldn’t be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.” Yet when one studies and discerns the history of governments, it’s apparent the word “vendetta” is too tame.

That history always repeats itself is not known only to those who know not history. Hence, predicting the future of governments with accompanying levels of tyranny and slavery is not arduous. George Mason University professor Walter E. Williams penned a very poignant thought in his Forward to Frederic Bastiat’s masterpiece “The Law” that has become our reality:

“Mankind’s history is one of systematic, arbitrary abuse and control by the elite acting privately, through the church, but mostly through government. It is a tragic history where hundreds of millions of unfortunate souls have been slaughtered, mostly by their own governments. A historian writing 200 or 300 years from now might view the liberties that existed for a tiny portion of mankinds’ population (early America) for only a tiny portion of its history, as a historical curiosity that defies explanation. But it was only a temporary phenomenon since mankind reverted back to the traditional state of arbitrary control and abuse.”

It was Thomas Jefferson who stated, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Yet without forthcoming, God-fearing patriots in America, our blood won’t have the honor of being spilled at all, except for a trickle to pierce our nose cavity and attach a ring.

This day, today, is more accurately Nov. 13th, 1765, the day when the writings of Samuel Adams broached, for the first time, a decisive break between the 13 colonies and Great Britain– Independence! Independence and freedom from unjust taxes, laws, and oppression did miraculously come, but not fully until a river of blood later. Yet this blood yielded something historically unparalled, as all true historians will recognize!

“Oh, what a glorious morning this is!” exclaimed Samuel Adams to fellow Founder John Hancock, both hiding in a church from searching British troops. The date was April 19th, 1775 and the shot at Lexington and Concord initiating the War of Independence was heard “’round the world.” New England, and particularly Massachusetts, where Adams and Hancock hailed from, led the struggle for liberty.

Today which State will lead this parallel struggle? Let examples of patriots be found throughout America. An example government has been established for all of time. Voices of dead patriots who left behind pearls of text are louder than anything from the bulwark of current political leaders. True patriots don’t compromise, and will gladly sacrifice the immediate for the eventual—the promise of today for the promise of forever.

To you who believe all is well with our current government, I echo sentiments from Thomas Paine’s 1776 pamphlet ‘Common Sense’, “…as a man who is attached to a prostitute, and is thus unfit to judge a wife, so any prepossession in favor of a rotten government will disable us from discerning a good one.”

Patriots are peacekeepers of now through the distant future. Peacekeepers with weapons and ammo, and perhaps as in 1775 Boston, gunpowder beneath church pulpits! Americans, your most treasured act of patriotism is to value the wheel that has already been invented. Fear God and prepare for the ongoing struggle. Unite yourself with the river of Patriots already flowing in the direction you and your children want to be heading! Jump on in, the water’s fine.

Warren Redlich, the New York Libertarian Party’s Gubernatorial Candidate in 2010, has filed a defamation lawsuit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York seeking 10 million dollars in compensatory damages and 20 million dollars in punitive damages for a flyer mailed in October, 2010 that claimed he was “a sick twisted pervert” and a “sexual predator”.

Redlich named Republican candidate Carl Paladino and Anti-Prohibition Party candidate Kristin Davis as defendants accusing them of conspiring to send out the campaign mailer said to have come from a group called People For A Safer New York, which claimed to be a “First Amendment” organization that does “not advocate the election or defeat of any candidate for public office” and only wishes “to shine the spotlight on those who would exploit children or advocate or defend sex with underage children”. In addition to the campaign mailer, People For A Safer New York also posted a video entitled “Is Warren Redlich A Sexual Predator”, which still can be viewed at http://vimeo.com/16343004.

Also named in the lawsuit are Michael Caputo, who was Paladino’s campaign manager; Andrew Miller, who worked for Paladino and Davis in 2010; and political operative Roger Stone, who consulted for Kristin Davis. They are all accused of having conspired to send out the mailing purported to be a “Sexual Predator Alert” that claimed Redlich was a “public danger”.

On August 25, 2011, Roger Stone responded to having been served as a defendant in the lawsuit by posting the following story entitled “Warren Redlich Sexual Predator” to his StoneZone blog:

In the 40 years I have been in American politics, I have never met a more obnoxious or distasteful individual then Albany lawyer Warren Redlich.

Last year, Redlich was the Libertarian Party candidate for Governor of New York who attacked his competitor Independent candidate Kristin Davis as a “whore” in an Albany Times Union article. Although Davis once ran the most successful escort agency in US History, there is no evidence she ever worked as a prostitute. A former Hedge Fund Vice President, Davis’s interest in the sex industry was strictly business.

Redlich profited from a website he owned that promised access to nude photos of Delaware Republican US Senate Nominee Christine O’Donnell but tried to re-position himself as a family values candidate who could dish it by calling Davis a “ whore” but couldn’t take it when attacked for his own words.

In every public encounter with Redlich Davis, despite her attempts to be cordial, was viciously attacked in verbal assaults by this rude, know-it-all jerk. His unhinged, erratic manner, bullying and shouting make it clear he could be a danger to people. I’d keep him away from pets and small farm animals too.

During last year’s campaign, Internet writings by Redlich were revealed where he defended sex with underage girls. As a father with one daughter and four granddaughters, I find these assertions disgusting. Redlich was attempting to be erudite and cosmopolitan but his meaning is clear-and disgusting. When a neighborhood watch organization published a mailer exposing Redlich as a pervert, he played the victim.

In my opinion, Warren Redlich is a sexual predator, a sick twisted pervert and a general danger to the public. These are not just reasonable conclusions based on his writings and actions; these assertions are also Constitutionally protected speech.

Last week, Redlich filed a meritless lawsuit claiming he had been smeared by the use of his own words and charged that a conspiracy of individuals – including Davis and Republican Carl Paladino – had worked in concert to libel him. Unfortunately, you cannot have a conspiracy to commit a legal act.

Libel per se? Bullshit.

If Redlich had been called a “Sex Offender” – that is, someone convicted of a sex crime – he might have a case. Designating him as a sexual predator is a fair observation based on his lewd and repugnant internet ravings. Anyone who has met Redlich could conclude by his loud, obnoxious and offensive behavior that he is a danger to the public. Jimmy McMillan- the Rent is too Damn High Party nominee for Governor told me Redlich was “such a prick I wanted to punch him out”

The folks at the People for A Safer New York assure me their attorney reviewed the language in their ads and mailings and issued a written opinion that they were constitutionally protected free speech and not libelous.

Redlich burst into temporary prominence only because Republican nominee for Governor Carl Paladino insisted on the inclusion of minor party candidates in his only debate with Democrat Andrew Cuomo. With Redlich as their candidate, the Libertarian Party fell short of the 50,000 votes required to win a ballot position. Pity.

Mr. Redlich is a lawyer who makes a living getting drunk drivers off the hook. A slimeball drowning in ego mania. Posing as a family man while making money off a porno linked website. A guy who lusts after teens on-line.

Sanctions will be sought against the attorney who filed Redlich’s lawsuit and, with Redlich’s recent move to West Palm Beach, his new Florida neighbors will soon learn a pervert has moved into their midst.

Since Warren Redlich was a “public figure” during the 2010 gubernatorial campaign period, he will need to prove People For A Safer New York made the statements about him with “actual malice” (i.e. knowing the statements were false or acting with reckless disregard of whether the statements were false or not). If he can establish the statements were defamatory, he will then have to prove by a “preponderance of the evidence” that the named defendants were involved in writing or sending out the mailing.

Warren Redlich responds:

It is unfortunate that politics attracts people like Roger Stone. They can never compete with good people in an open, honest and decent discussion of the issues. Because of that, they try to drive out the good people by attacking us. Mr. Stone’s continued attacks on me are false and clearly intended to cause personal harm. He has succeeded in driving me out as a candidate.

While I will not glorify his latest attack by linking to it or responding to all of it, I do want to respond to certain statements in his blog post:

“In the 40 years I have been in American politics, I have never met a more obnoxious or distasteful individual then Albany lawyer Warren Redlich.”

Mr. Stone and I have never met.

“Redlich … [called] Kristin Davis a ‘whore’ in an Albany Times Union article. Although Davis once ran [an] escort agency …, there is no evidence she ever worked as a prostitute. … Davis’s interest in the sex industry was strictly business.”

1. I didn’t call her a prostitute. The blog post in question was about Stone, not about Davis. She was only mentioned as an aside.

2. Ms. Davis does not refer to her past business as an “escort agency.” Her book title is: The Manhattan Madam: Sex, Drugs, Scandal And Greed Inside America’s Most Successful Prostitution Ring.

3. The term whore is not limited to prostitutes, with one definition being “a promiscuous or immoral woman.” Some people think running a prostitution ring, or having a business interest in the sex industry, is immoral.

4. If Ms. Davis is offended by the word, it’s odd that she would use it in the debate so casually:

“Redlich … tried to re-position himself as a family values candidate”

My campaign was never about family values. The campaign theme was “Stop Wasting Money.” I focused on wasteful spending.

In every public encounter with Redlich[,] Davis, despite her attempts to be cordial, was viciously attacked in verbal assaults by this rude, know-it-all jerk. His unhinged, erratic manner, bullying and shouting make it clear he could be a danger to people.

The only public encounter I had with Davis was a televised debate. I focused on my positive message. I did criticize other candidates, but my criticisms were directed at Andrew Cuomo and Carl Paladino. I did not mention Ms. Davis at all. I sat next to her for the entire debate (90 minutes or so). My behavior in the debate does not fit Mr. Stone’s comments in any way. Video here: 2010 New York Governor debate.

Nor did I engage in such behavior privately. I met Ms. Davis twice that I recall. The first was at a Manhattan Libertarian event early in 2010. She spoke before me. I complimented her both in person and when I spoke. The second time was after the debate in October, at the WPIX-11 studio. We spoke briefly in the “green room” and we were both cordial.

I hope voters will recognize this. Any candidate who hires Roger Stone is a person you shouldn’t vote for.
