The D.C. city council Committee on Government Operations will be holding a hearing on Monday, on the “Omnibus Election Reform Act of 2009,” which strengthens ballot access laws. Libertarian Party national chair Bill Redpath and Green Party Political Director Brent McMillan expect to testify.
The District of Columbia requires more signatures, as a percentage of the number of voters, for minor party and independent presidential candidates, than any other jurisdiction in the U.S., except for Oklahoma, North Carolina and Wyoming. In 2008 only one presidential petition succeeded in the District. The bill as introduced does not change the number of signatures, but it authorizes the Board to add filing fees in addition to the existing signatures.

He’s sleeping. Please don’t disturb him.
I am kind of surprised that Mr. Milnes has not commented yet on this article.
Hopefully they will meet and realize the pointlessness of what they are doing and adopt the Fringe Alliance Strategy of Catholic Trotskyism, or failing that, Milnes’s progressive alliance strategy.
I wish them luck.
