The Connecticut Green Party is interested in filling Christopher Coutu’s seat on the Norwich City Council.
State party co-Chairman Mike DeRosa said he will contact the party’s New London office to see if anyone is interested in running for the seat.
Coutu, a Republican, resigned last week as required by the city charter after his election to the state House of Representatives. Under minority representation rules, anyone but a Democrat may fill the seat. The city hopes to hold an election in April.
