Democrats defeat Republican connected to Constitution Party for Rick Jore’s State House seat

Via Ballot Access News

Rick Jore, the Constitution Party’s only state legislator, must leave the Montana legislature in a few weeks because of term limits. Voters in his district replaced him with a Democrat. The November 2008 election in the 12th House district was between Republican nominee Ron Marquardt, and Democratic nominee John Fleming. Fleming won with 63% of the vote. Marquardt had been a member of the Constitution Party, and had been its 2006 nominee for Clerk of the Montana Supreme Court. But for the 2008 legislative race, Marquardt had switched to the Republicans.

Jon Tester, Montana’s junior Senator, is the most conservative person in the Senate. He is also a Democrat

PROTESTANT STALINIST PARTY JOINS GROUNDSWELL IN ENDORSING ROBERT MILNES FOR POTUS

The Central Committee of the recently disbanded Protestant Stalinist Party has been severely inspired by the candidacy of Robert Milnes for POTUS. So severely inspired, in fact, that the party has voted for reform. We plan to, briefly, put aside our differences with the Catholic Trotskyist Party to campaign for Milnes.

We read Milnes website and were particularly intrigued by his admission to spending 4 years in federal prison for writing “fan letters” to a TV reporter. We find that “fan letters” could be an intriguing strategy at breaking the imperialistic media stranglehold on public discourse. We will be sending a telegram to Trevor Lyman with this idea.

As you know, the Protestant Stalinist Party has also long supported technology in government so were particularly drawn to this section of Milne’s bio:

I met who would eventually become a friend in Ca. He convinced me to get a computer in 2000. So I have slowly taught myself and do a lot of research on the computer. I’m not too bad & have a good one and high speed internet service.

In short, you better all support Milnes or you are fascist insects.

The 12th District is solidly conservative. But Jore is working full-time on pro-life causes from what I’ve read throughout Internet Land.

Id guess he’ll run for something, no idea what.

Does Rick Jore have any further political ambitions?

  9. Trent Hill November 23, 2008

It was likely a Brian Swietzer-type Democrat. Conservative Montana Democrat.

Maybe it was a Libertarian-turned-Democrat. Who knows? It’s dumb to make a judgement on someone just based on their party.

This wasnt a particularly conservative district, and the Democrats can often appeal to conservative voters anyway. See the Deep South or Montana’s governor for examples.

Disgusting. I thought Montana was one of the most conservative and libertarian states in the country? Why are they mindlessly following the rest of the country in giving the Democrats a landslide?
