Ron Paul supporters and grassroots activists have been planning a march and rally in Washington D.C. ever since “Super Tuesday”. These activists eventually coelesced into a website, and started making formal plans. Having secured permits to meet on the Capitol lawn and having raised over $25,000–the folks over at RevolutionMarch.com started making plans. The keynote speaker, Ron Paul, confirmed that he would be there around the time the 15,000th person RSVP’d for the event. Other confirmed speakers include: G. Edward Griffin, Thomas E. Woods, Naomi Wolf, Michael Scheuer, and Chuck Baldwin. Baldwin was just confirmed as a speaker within the last few days, and will speak about “hope for America and a new breed of politician”. Thus far, it seems that Bob Barr either hasn’t been invited, hasn’t responded, or rejected the offer.

Fred,
RP doesnt have anything to do with it–he isnt running the event,a group of grassroots organizers are.
As for Barr–Baldwin will be at FreedomFest too, but he’s flying out to the REvolutionMarch.
Actually, Barr is speaking at FreedomFest in Las Vegas that weekend. http://www.freedomfest.com/freedomfest.htm
So, even if he was invited, he’s been booked for that event for weeks or maybe months. I wanted to go, but it’s a bit pricey.
He might just not be confirmed yet. But it’s hard to believe RP didn’t invite him. If he’s declined… well that just doesn’t make a lick of sense.
Jerry,
I suspect Barr was invited and declined—or wasnt invited.
Chuck BaldWIN gets an invite, ummm does anyone understand the significance of this? Chuck BaldWIN IS a credible candidate. He gets to make his pitch to the R(3VOl)ution in living, breathing person! If he shines it means more support for him than any CP candidate has ever received! If he flops it isn’t going to be a fantastic year as hoped. So much pressure for one public appearance. Will he soar or will he sink? We shall see…
I look for strings to be pulled to have Barr included! Don’t you?
Disregard that last comment, I saw the post on the Gravel forums just now.
Ross, are you 100% sure?
I heard some rumors that Gravel wouldn’t be speaking, and its not on their website. Plus, on that email you sent out Ross, there was discussion about that as well.
Kalipay,
25k for a rally that is supposed to entertain in excess of 14,000 peoplesounds about right.
Gravel will be speaking there, too.
$25,000 just for a one-day rally?!! Though I guess it’s been planned for a while…
