We are having a variety of technical problems with wordpress 4.4 and will likely do a site restore to wordpress 4.3 as of the last site backup on that version, which was about 1:25 am on December 8. I’ll try my best to manually save a copy of the articles and comments we had since then, but if you post anything else in the meantime please back it up yourself. If anything is irretrievably lost we apologize for the technical difficulties.

Yes, the system is definitely losing messages. ‘Course, that could be a “between the ears” problem.
I’ll copy the comments from 1:25 am on Dec 8 to 2015/12/09 at 09:35 into a file, if Warren does not override me first and do the backup while I am working on it. Anything after that point I may not get to.
