Updates from the Libertarian Party of Ohio

From a May 31st email from the Libertarian Party of Ohio (LPO):

Support your LPO!

Summer events with Ohio Libertarians

Fun and freedom: This month, three LPO members spoke to senior political science students at Thomas Worthington High School. LPO Communications Director Aaron Keith Harris, Franklin County LP Communications Director Danielle Stout, and LPO member Courtney Hodges explained what our party believes and fielded dozens of questions from almost 100 students, most of whom were attracted to the message of liberty.

Also, our recent 2013 LPO Conference—with guests including Judge Jim Gray and LNC Chair Geoffrey Neale—exceeded our expectations both in attendance and enthusiasm.

But there’s much more coming up, including a Cleveland Indians game, a night at the race track with the #79 LPO stock car in Xenia, and our annual LPO cookout, where Libertarians from all over Ohio and beyond meet old friends and make new ones.

Winning elections

Campaigning for Liberty: Our main goal as a political party fighting for liberty here in Ohio is to elect candidates. We are currently recruiting candidates for elections in 2013 and 2014, when a full slate of statewide candidates will top our slate of candidates all acrossOhio.

If you’d like to consider running, please come to ourCandidate and Campaign Training session on Saturday, June 15 in Columbus, or email[email protected].

Whether you’re throwing your proverbial hat into the ring or not, please consider contributing to the LPO, so we can do more training and recruiting of candidates who want to stand up for the ideas you believe in.

Tech Upgrade

We know that our current website (lpo.org) leaves a lot to be desired, but that is about to change.

Our IT team is in the middle of creating a new site that will help us better communicate the message of liberty, as well as a database that will help us identify and reach out to current members, voters, and donors.

However, the IT team is currently without a permanent director, so we’re looking for someone who will help us complete the upgrade more quickly and lead the IT division going forward.

If you’d like to find out more about the IT director volunteer position, or simply volunteer to join the team (even a couple of hours of your time per week would be welcome), please email Communications Director Aaron Keith Harris.
