While I disagree with Mr. Phillies on several issues, namely Dr. Ron Paul and his contribution to the Liberty Movement, I commend him for this publication. It’s a very interesting and certainly worthwhile read.

I am not a fan of Johnson’s answers, or lack thereof, regarding campaign spending.

GP: “For starters, annualized hourly rate, Johnson’s campaign manager (“senior political advisor”) appears to have set the all-time Libertarian Presidential Campaign Manager record for pay rate.”

me: The hourly rate may or may not be “too high” but to call it “annualized” looks like a stretch. If you look at what a college prof gets paid and only include time spent with students and perhaps staff meetings, they are often paid at what appear to be very high “hourly” rates. But, then, profs are expected to do research and other stuff to stay current, etc.

Those who get paid on a billable hour basis don’t always work 40hrs * 50 weeks. They often bill fewer hours than that.

    Twisted analysis.

    Interesting read as always, George!

Btw, I wanted to send some money to support your reporting (and the mailed copy you send), but your Donor Town Square subscription link no longer works (Donor Town Square was sold to Click & Pledge).

According to my understanding of what Ron Nielson told me, those high rates include the part that has not been paid, ie the “debt”, and thus are as theoretical as the debt is.
