I’ve talked to Nielson about campaign financing. He said all of the debt is owed to him, and he would only pursue it if the campaign brought in a lot of money in the future, which is highly unlikely.
He said that if there’s a 2016 campaign it will be an entirely new entity with no debt. Phillies says this is illegal, but Nielson apparently does not agree.
LOL, as of now, the #2 highest voted question of 200 questions posed to Johnson in the Reddit was about the finance sketchiness …
http://www.reddit.com/r/AMA/comments/18endz/i_am_gov_gary_johnson_honorary_chairman_of_the/c8e3snq
And he didn’t answer! LMAO.
Big shocker he didn’t answer any pertinent questions
Of course he’ll run if Ron Neilson needs the cash. Ron’s company, NSON, has already registered the URL garyjohnson2016.com (see: http://www.whois.com/whois/garyjohnson2016.com).
“Mike Kane: Will the Governor take more of a libertarian approach to his messaging in 2016, similar to say a Harry Browne or Dr. Mary J. Ruwart? Or will he continue to promote non L issues such as humanitarian wars, the fraud tax, “I could have administered medicare way better if I could have gotten a block grant”, ‘I do see a role for FEMA’.”
I thought that the last thing that Gary Johnson said about running for President in 2016 was that he was not going to do it. Has this changed and I missed it or what?

:
Mike Kane: Joe I’m still curious to see why he didn’t pardon drug offenders on his way out of office as governor
Paulie Cannoli: So go to reddit tomorrow and ask…?
Mike Kane: Well I would, if there weren’t 1000 other people asking stupid questions
Paulie Cannoli: Well, if you can’t get it answered on “ask me anything” you certainly won’t get it answered here. I may be doing another interview with Ron Nielson later this week if he has time, so try to put together a set of questions if I get that chance.

Mike Kane: What principles determine whether Gary Johnson and Ron Nielson decide to uphold their vendor contracts?
Joe Buchman: I’ll be meeting with Ron Nielson tomorrow and expect to return to more frequent interaction with Governor Johnson, Our American Initiative and other Liberty efforts within the next couple of months.
Let’s create a list of RADICAL REQUESTS and/or RADICAL QUESTIONS here, now. I promise to put those forward in a clear, LOUD, way.
In my experience Governor Johnson is 1) committed to learning/listening and 2) an incrementalist (in the best sense of that).
-snip-
Over at Radical Caucus on facebook, Joe Buchman and Paulie are compiling questions – they might get together with Ron Nielson and possibly do another interview later this week.
I’ll try to get on and ask some of these questions. I’d say there is a 50% chance I’ll be free at 6pm.
I’m going to give a “someone should” since I will not be participating.
Someone should ask how he feels about Roger Stone’s involvement in the 2012 campaign. Since Stone is now talking about running for FL Governor, it would be good to hear from GJ.
I’ve heard from someone inside that Stone burned them at the end.

Lots of luck then.
But I noticed several other people doing the same thing. I guess all of them will be busy at that time?”
I will probably be working or traveling during that time.
I will be at work from 12:30-9:30pm pacific time. i work 40 hours a week, and go to school 16 hours a week. That is why I haven’t been posting any articles here anymore.
Lots of luck then.
But I noticed several other people doing the same thing. I guess all of them will be busy at that time?
“Who? What are the chances “someone” will ask what YOU want to ask if you won’t do it yourself?”
I probably will not be available to do this myself. I’ve got other things to do, so that’s why I put the suggestion out there.
Speculating what the replies MIGHT be is equally useless.
If you want to know, go ASK your questions in the correct place and time instead of saying what “someone” “should” ask or guessing what the answers MIGHT be.
Neither of which is productive.
“Someone should…”
“Someone should…”
Who? What are the chances “someone” will ask what YOU want to ask if you won’t do it yourself?
Maybe you will get lucky, but realistically…
No one is going to ask the questions you want asked unless you get on there and ask them at the appointed place and time. Well, someone might but it’s highly unlikely.
So if you have questions – it’s called “ask anything” for a reason. Go to the page on reddit listed in the article at the time it says and ask your questions. I’d like to know the answers if those of you who are so big with your questions in a forum where they will NOT be answered actually bother to go to a forum where they WILL be answered. Come back and let us know if you get replies and what the replies are.
I looked up Gary Johnson’s pardon record a while back, and I found that during his 8 years as Governor he pardoned around 124-128 people (I can’t remember if it was 124 or 128 off hand). I assume that all of these pardons were just, and if so, that’s better than nothing, but still, that’s really not very many pardons considering that he was the Governor of a state for 8 years. I’d be willing to bet that during the 8 years that he was Governor that there were a heck of a lot more than 124-128 people who were either arrested for victimless crimes, or who got railroaded by the so called criminal justice system in some other manner in New Mexico.

I still want to know what his rationale was for not pardoning drug offenders on his way out as governor”
My guess would be that he was afraid to rock the boat. One would think that he could have done this as he was LEAVING office, but maybe he was still too timid to do this.
When he was asked about this years later his response was that although he opposes the war on drugs, he didn’t think that it was the proper role of the Governor to grant pardons to people convicted for drug offenses, but rather to work within the system to get the law changed.
I thought that his answer was weak.
Someone should ask
“When is Jim Gray for President going to be announced?”
I still want to know what his rationale was for not pardoning drug offenders on his way out as governor
I get that during the campaign, he didn’t want to flip flop on foreign policy or on the FairTax. Now that he is free from the campaign, he can change his position and honestly say that he has done a lot more soul searching and came to those conclusions not because of pressure from the libertarian base but because it is a position he now holds.
Austin, yes, I really hope someone does, in the past he made very un-libertarian remarks on foreign policy before winning the LP nod in May.
Someone should ask him why on his Our America page it says that America has to defend Israel through military force. That sounds very unlibertarian.
Somebody should ask him about his campaign debt.
