We’re very sorry about the down-time this weekend prior to the election. We’re currently in contact with our technical team to ensure that this does not occur again and hope to avoid any future outages. We know it can be frustrating for our readers, just as it is frustrating for us. IPR looks forward to continuing to provide high quality coverage of third party and independent candidates to our worldwide audience as the election results pour in.

I am happy to see that IPR is up. I look forward to many informational posts in the future.

If you read the comments in the thread from the last outage you will find suggestions on what to do to address the issue. As noted before, simply changing providers does not fix this type of problem.
You can’t tuna fish, but you can tune a web server!

Stewart–I don’t mess with the technical stuff, all of it goes above my head. But I did point it out to my boss. Thanks for the suggestions.

I’m glad to have IPR back. I was surprised at how much I missed it!

I’m glad IPR is back up.
I was trying to think of how to start an alternate site, in case the site never came back

I assure you it will come back if it goes down–we’re just having such intense technical issues. I’m honestly very frustrated with it.

Does anyone know of a website that will have popular vote returns for all candidates?

I want to thank everyone involved for their input and contributions to IPR this year. It has been very informative and hearing the viewpoints from so many different people with so many different opinions has been most interesting. Again, just a simple “thank you.” DH

Peter, I plan on this weekend developing an Excel spreadsheet that will include as many states and presidential candidates as possible. Most states will publish the results on their website, but since the presidential election is actually a bunch of state elections, and not a national election, I doubt if there is an official national site available.
Plus, since many states allow absentee ballots that were postmarked today, official results may not be available for a couple of weeks anyway.
USA Today usually has a list of votes for congressional candidates in their Thursday editions, but often they don’t include third-parties.

Glad it’s back up! For a moment, I read that subject to be “backup” as in “we put up a backup site for when the main site is down” but maybe that’s not a good idea.

R. D. @ 8: Thank you! It’s been my pleasure. I’ve learned quite a bit myelf.

There are usually a few mainstream news sites that list all the candidates, but it’s a matter of poking around until one turns up. I know USA Today listed all the candidates on primary ballots, so maybe they will.

Whoever finds one first, list it here. I usually go straight to the SoS websites.
