Jill Stein vs. CPD: ‘Alliance between Libertarians and Greens in taking on corporate domination of our federal republic’

JillStein.org:

CPD-complaint-image.pngYesterday, Monday, October 22nd, Florida attorney Kathleen Kirwin filed an emergency complaint on behlf of Dr. Jill Stein requesting an injunction against the bipartisan presidential “debate” sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), Lynn University, the Democratic and Republican national committees, and approved by the Federal Election Commission. The injunction request was denied, and the bipartisan campaign event was allowed to proceed.

You can read the injunction request by clicking here. The complaint alleged that the CPD an FEC, together with the other defendants, denied Dr. Stein her rights to due process, equal protection, and free speech.

Yesterday’s emergency complaint was made possible in large part through the generous support of a Libertarian Party member who wants to see the Greens and the Libertarians, as the nation’s two largest independent parties, cooperate more in the fight for free elections. Last Thursday, the presidential campaign of Governor Gary Johnson filed a court challenge to the CPD’s “debates” in Washington D.C..

The hope is that these actions form a new beginning to an alliance between the Libertarians and the Greens in taking on the corporate domination of our federal republic. Our attorneys are eager to take the next steps in taking down the debate duopoly that is the Commission on Presidential Debates. Your donation now will help make the difference.
