Not me, but apparently one of the factions is allegedly associated with the KKK and has been infiltrating/running as a variety of parties….but that could also be misinformation from the other faction.

Mississippi is doubtful as well due to a faction fight.

I don’t think it’s expected of men to wear ties in nearly as many situations as it was expected say 25 years ago.
A welcome and overdue development.

I don’t think it’s expected of men to wear ties in nearly as many situations as it was expected say 25 years ago. I think over the coming decades ties are going to go more and more out of fashion in the work place. That said, if you’re running for president you should at minimum concede that you are aspiring to work in public life, and to be a gentleman, a politician (like it or not), and a professional person. If all those guys on C-Span wear ties the Reform Party candidate should wear a tie to the convention. An American Flag lapel pin would be a nice touch too. Being scrupulous in your appearance is way to demonstrate leadership. I think it’s actually extremely important in this arena.

Paul Ryan skipped on the tie too but I agree with you Red , a tie would be nice.
415-690-6352 if Reform, Prohibition, P & F etc want to get on in some easy states.
I’m headed to work in Alabama, so side trips to Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana and Florida if they need help putting together a slate of electors, may be a possibility once again, as I did the same for BTP (TN, FL) and SPUSA (TN, LA) while working Alabama for Barr, Nader, and Baldwin four years ago.
I have friends in other parts of the country if they want to try groupings of geographically adjacent relatively easy states elsewhere but I think that Southern grouping is the easiest, and that’s where I’ll be the next few weeks with a team of petitioners.

@28 – I’m with you. Hedges was an elected official near my neck of the woods…I thought that would give him an advantage. They apparently missed Colorado because of the Dodge folks, who aren’t willing to help Fellure.
Funny how this is a Reform Party thread and we’re talking about Prohibitionists!

I am astounded that this thread has so many posts. The Reform Party will likely appear on less ballots than the Prohibition Party!
It has come to my attention that David Collison, Chairman of the Reform Party will be giving updates about the convention through the Reform Party National Committee Facebook page.
From my understanding they have ballot access in Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi – and according to Ballot Access news there is currently petitioning going on in Arkansas.
#4- With all due respect but the Reform Party actually is on the ballot in those two states. You asked if they were on any ballots and I gave you an answer. You didn’t ask if they got on any tough ballot states

#4 – With all due respect, I have $500 in my bank account, so you could say that I have ballot access in Louisiana and Florida as well.
One state requires a fee and some electors, the other requires you file paperwork to organize a party. The party hasn’t successfully obtained any ballot lines that would require any major coordinated effort, petitioning, etc.
#16 — I meant failed, as in failed to petition their presidential candidate onto the ballot.

And we didn’t “fail” in NJ. We have three Congressional candidates. That is where we are focusing our resources.
Barnett is also seeking the Modern Whig Party nomination against TJ O’Hara and NOTA. Barnett will likely carry the nomination. Currently the Whigs do not have ballot access anywhere (to my knowledge).

Thanks Nick…have a good convention. Keep us up to date!
Barnett has been a favorite, but some people still see all the candidates as opportunists . A lot of these people will run for our nomination, but they aren’t Reform Party members and they’ve never done anything to advance the Reform Party.
Jeff Richards has the advantage because he’s the chairman of the Nevada Reform Party…That is if he is running.
So it could be between Richards and Barnett. I wouldn’t be suprised if either won.
That being said anything can happen at a convention. One of the candidates could do something that sinks himself still.

Who appears to be the favorite? I’m pretty sure Andre Barnett has been in the running since the beginning. A fresh face would benefit the party this time around, and could help things get going again.
@7 There is a Reform Party of Louisiana is on the ballot because they protected their ballot access by getting 6 percent of the vote in the Commissioner of Agriculture race in the last state wide race.
@3 Louisiana and Florida, maybe Mississippi. The Kansas affilate has been rogue for years.
We were sure going into the convention that we would have another caretaker candidate. We’re doing better thou as we’ve reorganized Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey in the last two years. We’re almost reorganized in North Carolina and may have an affilate party as early as sometime next year.
We are also reorganized enough on the national level to have several new subcommittees including a Communications Committee.
There’s a lot of things you all don’t see, and the Reform Party needs to issue more press releases about them. Personally I think we’ve missed a few chances when it comes to press releases.
Was the party able to secure ballot access in any states? Seemed like they were talking big for a while, but have failed in NJ. Their Kansas affiliate went rogue and nominated Chuck Baldwin.
And I thought they had Mississippi also, but I’m no longer sure about that one either.
Will the candidate who gets nominated at this convention actually appear on any state ballots?
Not me, but apparently one of the factions is allegedly associated with the KKK and has been infiltrating/running as a variety of parties….but that could also be misinformation from the other faction.

Dude, you just got nominated as a candidate for President of the United States. Put on a tie.
I’ve just become the first person to “like” Andre Barnett on facebook.
Barnett is nearly impossible to contact. Last time I tried to e-mail him, I got a failed delivery notice.
I took what was likely the first picture of the RPUSA nominees together as official Presidential and VP candidate.

any word on who was nominated?

Funny how this is a Reform Party thread and we’re talking about LP!
@35… right you are! Now is the time for the LP to step up and make an impact.
And little Reform to speak of!
True New Fed, we still have the prohibition on drugs to deal with!
@31… why? In the grand scheme of things the Drys have had more impact on US politics than the Perotistas.
#32 I have fowarded this to David Collison.

#22 I am not sure. Since this is more state by state, I would have no knowledge of that information.
Are there any other states Reform Party realistically hopes/expects to be on the ballot in for president this year?
#20 yes
Hasn’t the Arkansas deadline passed?
From my understanding they have ballot access in Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi – and according to Ballot Access news there is currently petitioning going on in Arkansas.
Seems they have more candidates vying for their ticket than they have States for them to run in –

@10 Barnett, Ashby, Cross, McCormick, Whitley and maybe Jeff Richards.
BTW I also forgot we have a new affilate in Arkansas.
So which candidates are still seeking the nomination?
@7 There is a Reform Party of Louisiana is on the ballot because they protected their ballot access by getting 6 percent of the vote in the Commissioner of Agriculture race in the last state wide race.

Talked to Darcy. He dropped out of Reform Party run. Hasn’t replied about whether he will attend the convention.
We have a Reform Party in Louisiana that is barely considered Active but because they have 1,400 registered voters, they have ballot access here.
#5- Colorado deadline was earlier this week. Too late.
I’m fairly confident they can find $500 and 9 electors to appear on the ballot in Colorado, as well.
#3- I am pretty sure they have ballot status in Louisiana and Florida (as well as MS but as you said I don’t know if they are on board).
Was the party able to secure ballot access in any states? Seemed like they were talking big for a while, but have failed in NJ. Their Kansas affiliate went rogue and nominated Chuck Baldwin.

Darcy Richardson is running as of the last time I checked, I just put in a call to him.
BTW it is Reform Party not Reformed Party – fixed it here.

Do we know anyone going to this? Would love some updates.
