Roseanne Barr Calls Ann Romney A Liar

Roseanne Barr is a former television star and a presidential candidate vying for the nomination of the Green Party. She recently wrote that she thinks the idea of Ann Romney raising her five sons on her own is “Bullshit.”

“Mrs. Mitt Romney claims to have worked her toned ass off, raising five Romney males all on her own, as privileged wives often do … but, no, Ann, I call bulls–t on your Big Mama story, girlfriend,” Barr wrote in a column for The Daily Beast.

Barr went on criticizing Romney for claiming she did it all solo, with the exception of a little assistance from a maid who would come in a couple of hours a week.

She went on to suggest that there might be an undocumented immigrant worker who raised the boys, instead.

How come Rocky Anderson hasn’t jumped into the Green Party race? Clearly, there is a leadership gap.

Q2Q, I’ve been wondering the same thing. The Justice Party is clearly only going to be on the ballot in a handful of states and is essentially based around one man–Rocky Anderson–so why not run Green Party and combine forces with Stein? At least as VP?

I disagree with Jill Stein (and the Green Party platform in general) on a number of issues (namely I don’t think going into further debt for government run “stimulus” projects will end up working out well at all) – but every time I hear her speak I can’t help but liking her and thinking that she’s incredibly intelligent and articulate. Where as Roseanne nearly always comes off as abrasive, confrontational and annoying to me. Luckily so far it seems from primary races and straw polls held so far it seems the likely Green Convention delegates are not swayed easily by a celebrity name and have been going with what I consider to be the far stronger candidate in Dr. Stein.

As far as Rocky Anderson – I think he is also highly charismatic and articulate with a message that I think a lot of potential voters would be open to- but it is slightly perplexing to me why he had to create his own brand name of the Justice Party simply to guarantee himself a nomination when the platform of it seems to be so close to what the Green Party espouses. Since the Justice Party has had limited time and budget to gain ballot access, that it seems a long shot for him to gain the American’s Elect nomination, and that him competing against a likely Green ticket of Stein/Mesplay or Stein/Barr will potentially divide the “independent left progressive” voting bloc up – it’s hard to understand the exact reasoning for him not pursuing the GP nomination instead. But I am glad his voice is in this race (even if again I disagree with him on a number of issues)
