Boca Raton’s ‘No weapons allowed’ sign under fire from Libertarians

A sign banning weapons at Boca Raton’s City Hall is under fire from the county’s Libertarian Party.

The Libertarian Party of Palm Beach County sent a letter Tuesday to city officials stating that the “No weapons allowed” sign at the entrance to City Hall violated state law and asking that it be brought into compliance with the law within 45 days.

“Florida law says citizens with a concealed weapons permit can go into any municipal buildings, as long as the city council is not in session,” said John Thompson, the Libertarian Party of Palm Beach County chairman. “We just don’t want there to be any confusion about the law.”

The County Commission overturned a ban on guns in parks in February because it conflicted with state law.Read more….

    Just how is the term “weapon” defined? Would it apply to more than just firearms?

    They could focus on things that actually matter to normal people, or they could do this and continue on not winning elections.

    Me too if I ever travel to florida again but generally as well. Are you @2 calling me abnormal because I carry a gun to defend myself and others?

    Same thing could be said about any LP platform. Are gays not being allowed to marry abnormal? What about medical marihuana users or any drug user? What about the self employed who are inundated with taxes and regulations?
