First, you can watch the Illinois gubernatorial debate that includes Green Rich Whitney – although it excludes Libertarian Lex Green – by clicking here to watch the livestream. It starts at 9 PM EST (that’s 8 PM in Illinois).
Also (H/T to commenter WalterGPW), the previously reported voting machine error that would have listed Whitney as “Rich Whitey” in some heavily African-American areas is going to be fixed. From the Chicago Sun-Times:
An embarrassed Chicago Election Board will spend the money and time to re-program and re-test 4,200 electronic voting machines to correct a spelling error that changed the last name of Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney to “Whitey.”
If the mistake had been anything other than “Whitey” in a city with a history of racial politics, the costly correction might not have been necessary, officials said.

Also, independent Scott Lee Cohen is being left out of the debate.

“Rich Whitey”, I would love to know what wards that error was to appear in. I mean, was it an attempt to discredit him in wards with a predominant non-white voters? I’m not prone to consirpacy, but this Illinois we’re talking abt.

According to the previous article, about 12 of those 23 wards are majority black.
