Connecticut U.S. Senate candidate John Mertens has endorsed Independent Party gubernatorial candidate Tom Marsh. “Tom Marsh has been honest about the huge challenges facing Connecticut in regards to the budget shortfall, and the sacrifices that will be necessary,” said Mertens. “His honest assessment demonstrates the need for another round of direct federal aid to states to help reduce the cuts in education and other services that will be necessary. Most of the $800 billion stimulus was poor bang for the buck, but I supported the $144 billion of state and local fiscal relief. Congress should pass another round of state fiscal relief in 2011.”
