LifeNews.com: Tom Tancredo Would Tie Hickenlooper Without Dan Maes in Race

LifeNews.com reports

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Colorado shows Hickenlooper with a 47% to 42% lead over Tancredo, a former GOP congressman.

Maes, the failed Republican candidate whose campaign has died due to scandals and other problems, gets the support of 5 percent of voters — just enough to prevent Tancredo from tying Hickenlooper.

This assumes that the remaining Maes supporters prefer Tancredo over Hickenlooper.

Are they assuming that all of Maes supporters would go to Tom? Likely most of them will but some will sit out, some vote Hickenlooper and some other. It would not be a done deal.

Yes, as noted in the article. However, I would have to think that anyone still holding out for Maes at this point must really dislike Tancredo.

Those Republicans! All they do is act as spoilers! They should be banned from the ballot since they just confuse the voters.

Read the actual article? Why would I ever do that? Good point though Tancredo would probably not get many of those who still support Maes. Maybe he should not seek to have Maes drop out (not that I believe he would drop).

Tancredo’s runnin as a Constitution Party candidate, aint he? I saw no mention of what letter Tancredo’s got by his name on the ballot in this article. Rasmussen’s been callin Tancredo an Independent on its main page every chance it gets. So, which is it?

Yes. It seems that some powers that be don’t really want to promote that brand.
