Dear Friends, Family and Supporters;
A MAJOR shift has occurred in the thinking of Arizonans in the final weeks of the campaign. 35% of the voters remain undecided and their hesitation seems to stem from their obvious displeasure with BOTH the Republicans and the Democrats. I predict that it will only take 35% to WIN back Arizona and the interim Governor’s support is dropping like a rock as more and more people are seeing through the deceptions of SB1070–they’re realizing it doesn’t have anything to do with border security. They’ve noticed that the interim Governor is not saying a word about it anymore.
We have a chance to ‘go to the air'(waves) with commercials to let voters know they have a real choice to put Arizona back in line with her Constitution and fix the problems instead of fixing blame.
Our cost for commercials is as low as $2, so every dollar you contribute really can make the difference. Will you help, or just sit by and watch as we slip beneath the waves of this Depression? We CAN fix it, but it’s all up to you.
Frederick Douglas, the great slave abolitionist, said it well: “The limits of tyranny are defined only by the endurance of the oppressed”.
Have your endurance and tolerance of government intrusions into your daily life been exhausted, yet? Mine has. That’s why I chose to enter the Arizona Governor’s race. Since I became a parent some 27 years ago, I committed myself to doing all that I possibly can to preserve and protect the only legacy of any value that we might leave our children—that of their inherent birthright of individual Liberty.
I know that the best way for government to actually ‘help’ those Arizonans who are hurting—is to stop hurting them!
As a libertarian, I am dedicated to the principles enshrined in our Declaration of Independence, the original Constitution and enumerated in the Bill of Rights. The libertarian writers of these documents put their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor on the line, against overwhelming odds and the most powerful nation on Earth to forward these principles—and most of them lost all of those things.
They gifted us with the blessings of Liberty, and an incredible nation called “America”, asking only that we preserve and protect those very things. Their arrogance in asserting that a free people could run their own lives and own their own servant government was revolutionary. Libertarians believe that we are the keepers of a sacred trust, between the American People, and their government—our task is to hold government to the contract.
We haven’t done a very good job. We have been lax in our resolve to constrain what is now a run-away government that’s comprised of bad and selfish people who fancy themselves to be “elected royalty”. But I’m not buyin’ their shpiel. Enough is enough! I believe it’s time to take our state, and our government back from their slimy grasp.
They have controlled the money and now they have tightened the thumbscrews on every family and individual in America. They (the Republican/Democrat Party) even extract your earnings, to run their campaigns! The “Clean Elections” scheme is designed to keep them in office and to spit in the face of every one of us by using your hard-earned tax dollars to fund their political campaigns.
I rejected the $1.7 Million dollars I could easily have applied for, but each of them took, because I know it’s tainted money, and it would be a lie to say I came to lessen your burden while stealing more of your money to forward political aspirations. I just won’t do it. It’s a matter of demonstrating integrity, dignity and honesty.
“But it takes money to run a campaign”, as I am often reminded, and that’s why I appeal to you today to contribute to this effort. Our campaign team has already done so much, with so little that it boggles the mind. We have all sacrificed our families, our time and our own personal money to bring you the opportunity to return government to its rightful servant hood.
We face a pile of money that allows the un-elected Governor to campaign from the safety of her campaign cave and cuddle in the arms of her trainers, refusing to take her so-called “ideas” onto the political battlefield of public debate. And she claims to be a “scrapper”. If that’s not an insult to each and every one of us, I don’t know what is.
Her making up outright lies, and then ‘defending’ them for weeks, leads me to question her sanity—it’s either that, or thoughtless attempts to manipulate you. She said her Dad died “fighting Nazis” when he never left California, and that authorities have found “headless bodies” in our deserts when her own agencies informed her there hasn’t even been one, and that she ‘balanced’ the state budget when the only body that has all the figures (the legislative budget oversight committee) says she’s overdrawn the budget by over $700 Million dollars, and that she ‘saved’ education by championing a new tax (Prop 100) when all she did was keep the paychecks flowing for her union friends without doing a single thing to enhance education. The list of lies is nearly endless, but that’s not the point of this letter to you today.
We need to put an end to her trickery, bring the Depression we are suffering from to a close—and we can do it. I’ve laid out my proposals clearly on our website (www.hessforgovernor.com) and try to update events and occurrences on FaceBook (hess4governor) to keep you informed but, it’s still going to take money to pry her out of your office.
The ‘good’ news is, we have all the money we need. The ‘bad’ news is—it’s still in your pocket!
We have only one week left before the final decision is made on November 2nd, so I’m asking you to pull out what you can as soon as you can to help us march to victory and restore Arizona to its greater promise and an optimistic future for us, and the next generation. Our last media buys will on Friday, so please hurry!
