Yesterday I outlined a bold plan to cut spending and balance the state budget.

Day 1: Direct my cabinet heads to develop a plan to cut spending across the board by 10 percent at the department level.
Year 1: While broad based cuts are being implemented, I’ll bring leading fiscal conservatives to the seat of government and we will scrutinize every department, agency, division, program and statute with an eye toward ferreting out waste and excess.
This plan isn’t rocket science, nor should it be. When revenues don’t match expenditures, you cut.
As Governor, I will cut.
In the least surprising news of the cycle, today the Denver Post criticized my budget balancing plan. Said it wasn’t nuanced enough. Said it can’t be done.
To the Denver Post and all the lobbyists and legislators and liberals who defend the disastrous status quo down at the statehouse who say I can’t cut budgets, I say this: watch me.
And I need your help to get this message out. My campaign team is developing an extensive media program to talk about our 10 percent government reduction plan.
We’ll run TV and radio ads, go on conservative talk radio shows, use email and blogs, write editorials and brief influential columnists to get our message out that I have the only serious plan in this election to slash government spending.

We’re rapidly closing in the polls, and our message of tough leadership will appeal to independent and even some Democrat voters who are fed up with broken bloated government.

Good grief Don, GET OVER IT! It is time to move on. As I said in a previous post, Buchanan won the nomination fair and square. The villian in that affair was Perot who promised Pat his support and then turned around and stabbed him in the back. That Perot was willing to turn his party over to a TM flake to keep it out of Buchanan’s hands tells us all we need to know.

You not only are entitled to your OPINIONS, but you deserve them!
[a] The Buchanans spent a half decade lying to the rank and file reformers. Specifically, one pledge after another to not bring moralizing into the secular campaign.
[b] state after state reported dirty tricks, including videos of Brigade Bandits rushing the stage and taking over the microphone and ‘action’
[c] It is not the Perot Party
[d] Perot, how ever imperfect, never stole a dime from the reform movement

Buchanan did not steal or hijack anything. He was told by Perot, Verney and Choate (no one denies this) that he would be welcomed into the RP, then Perot got cold feet (likely due to his squeamishness about the anti-Semitism charge) and stabbed Buchanan in the back. This is fact. Perot is the villain in all this. He acted in a treacherous and cowardly manner.

That he is fallible and imperfect, no argument. That Pat and Bay Buchanan could have used the funding for it’s specific and ‘a priori’ intent? They did not, or if they did, like the Ark of the Covenant, it is a well kept secret.

Don, Buchanan won the nomination fair and square. Therefor, he was entitled to the matching funds. What about that is hard to understand? He even had trouble collecting because the TM flake faction sued.
