Nazis Hold Rally Against Illegal Immigration in Los Angeles

August 19th, 2010 · 14 Comments

The Los Angeles Times reports:

A rally of about 40 white supremacists Saturday on the lawn of Los Angeles City Hall drew hundreds of counter-protesters, sparked brawls in which two people were severely beaten and ended with crowds of demonstrators hurling rocks and bottles at police and departing supremacists.

The rally, conducted by the National Socialist Movement, prompted the Los Angeles Police Department to go on tactical alert as counter-protesters from throughout the region flooded into downtown L.A. They included a wide assortment of African American, Jewish, Latino, immigrants-rights and anarchist groups.

A report published on the Nazi group’s website denounced the “hate groups” that had assembled to protest their action and stated:

This location was selected because of Mayor Villaraigosa and the City Council`s refusal to follow U.S. laws concerning illegal immigration, and Los Angeles status as a Sanctuary City for illegal aliens. L.A. was also selected because Southern California is literally the front lines of this fight against the invading menace of Third World aliens, which in turn has resulted in the White Minority in the area to feel like foreigners in their own land.

The National Socialist Movement is America’s most active neo-Nazi organization. They look to George Lincoln Rockwell for their inspiration.

The NSM held an anti-immigration protest in Riverside last year, and turned out 20 Nazis, who were confronted with more than 600 counter-protesters.

While the NSM is explicitly socialist, favor socialized medicine and nationalization of the means of production, the real threat they pose is to taxpayers in cities where they hold protests. Riverside taxpayers had to pay for hundreds of police officers to protect the Nazis from the community they came to annoy.

“The National Socialist Movement is America’s most active neo-Nazi organization.”

Even more active than the Republican and Democratic parties?

Perhaps I should have said “America’s most active self-described (selbstgenannte) neo-Nazi organiztion.

But in reality, as similar as the Bipartisan Party is to the NSDAP, our homegrown fascist establishment is still more moderate than the Third Reich.

People like these have only one issue that gains them attention and thats immigration. If it were sold they would slide into being irrelevant again

Why is it the media never gives similar coverage and condemnation to Communist groups who are monthly demonstrating in major cities? I’m not defending the Nazis, just looking for the rightful treatment that should go to groups promoting an ideology that stacked up bodies just as high as the Nazis.

    MN Indy,

My guess is that the reason the Nazis get more coverage is that the “interesting story” is the counter-protesters.

When the Nazis march, the hecklers come out. When the communists march, few people notice and those who do yawn and go back to watching reruns of “Three’s Company.”

They showed up in my county: http://www.timesreporter.com/local_news/x1518884444/National-Socialist-Movement-holds-rally-on-Phila-Public-Square

Note the headline about the ‘rally’ igniting ALL CAPS PASSION. Yes, four people constitutes a ‘rally’ to my local newspaper.

From the article above: “The Socialist representatives carried two Nazi flags, a Confederate flag and a combination American/Nazi flag.” Not often that nazis are identified as socialists by a regular newspaper. Typo?

    I called them on that.

  • 10 Davi Rodrigues // Aug 20, 2010 at 12:50 pm

We spend more time on their ideology than we do addressing their concerns and giving them no reason to be relevant.

  • 11 Vaughn // Aug 20, 2010 at 1:19 pm

They aren’t relevant. They don’t run any candidates but declare themselves to be a legitimate political party.

  • 12 Davi Rodrigues // Aug 20, 2010 at 1:33 pm

That could be the constitution party in California as well. No official status as a legitimate party, yet they hold events.

  • 13 Don Grundmann // Aug 21, 2010 at 6:10 pm

Mr. Rodrigues – The American Independent Party is the California branch of the Constitution Party. We have many candidates running for office; inclusive of Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, Congress, State Board of Equalization, and many others; and are holding events throughout the state.
