Illinois Senate Democratic campaign declares Libertarian Mike Labno a threat to Republican

Illinois Treasurer and US Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias’s campaign posted a press release titled Anti-Establishment Wave Should Have Washington Insider Kirk Afraid, Very Afraid” on wednesday. The release warns Republican Congressman Mark Kirk that he faces a “legitimate challenge from the right with Libertarian candidate Mike Labno officially on the Illinois ballot.”

As with Republican Senator Bob Bennett of Utah, the anti-incumbent wave  is on the brink of taking its next victim this morning as incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska faces the more than likely loss to a conservative challenger from the right.  Congressman Mark Kirk, a 10-year incumbent Washington insider, has tried and failed repeatedly to curry favor with the conservative base in Illinois, and is now facing a legitimate challenge from the right with Libertarian candidate Mike Labno officially on the Illinois ballot.

“Incumbent Congressman Mark Kirk, who has lived in Washington, D.C. for the past 20 years, must be shaking in his boots this morning as the returns from last night’s Alaska Republican primary show incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski facing an upsetting loss from her conservative challenger,” said Alexi for Illinois campaign manager Michael Rendina.

On his facebook fan page, Mike Labno posted the link with the response: “This is very true Alexi, and you should be afraid too.”

Both parties are in trouble because Mike is rock solid. From what I know of it, the entire Illinois stable of candidates are very good. Julie Fox might have the best chance. She is the only cpa running for comptroller.

I thought that I would have to hold my nose and vote for “cap and trade” Kirk.

Not Anymore! Mike has my vote!

Mike Labno was an open communist in the 80s and now he’s running as a libertarian? Sounds like the work of the Chicago-Democrat machine to me.

    1) Source(s) on that?

    2) Sure it’s the same guy?

    3) If true, people do change their views and the 80s were a long time ago. My views were a lot different then than they are now, for example.

“once, I shared”…is what I meant to type.

Sorry, I am tired this evening. But unlike Obama that gets tired and thinks the US has 57 States…I know there are only 50…LOL.

I was a communist in the 1980s. I wore a button with a giant red fist saying “Military victory to Salvadorian leftists” on it to school. I was in 7th grade. I hope that doesn’t disqualify me from being a libertarian now.

Good job Mike, yes you are helping the Democrat, and our great Greek Orthodox Trotskyist brother Alexy Gionoulias.

If you were a communist though, you might be interested in PLAS.

Mark Kirk is helping Giannoulias by not withdrawing from the race. He has zero chance of winning whether or not Mike Labno is a candidate.

    No, it doesn’t, LOL.

So, if you don’t want a thief in office, vote for a liar instead?

I refuse to worry through another election whether my vote will make the worst of two evils win, because it split the vote of the next worst. I am voting for the guy I believe in. I am voting for a guy that will vote with Ron Paul. I am voting for Mike Kirk.

We all have to get away from voting for the lesser of 2 evils, or nothing will change, at least not the real change this country needs! Republicans……….Democrats………… 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what is for dinner, and we are the sheep. Wake up please!
