Former Representative Jim Traficant has failed to make the ballot in his bid to return to Congress in Ohio’s 17th district. According to the Trumbull County Board of Elections, he fell 107 valid petitions short. Traficant and supporters dispute the finding and plan to appeal. However, it may not be surprising that the effort fell through, considering Traficant’s lackluster campaign organization. It already seems that the campaign is winding down, with the candidate canceling scheduled appearances.
Traficant was expelled from the House in 2002 on charges of corruption. He had hoped to run against Rep. Tim Ryan (D), one of his former staffers. This wasn’t his first attempted comeback; in 2002 Traficant had run for the seat as an independent from prison, garnering 15% of the vote.

Even moar lulz, a conservativefag trying to be in the same party as a bunch of liberalfags.
Trafficant should join the Green Party…
He would have made the ballot as a Green Party candidate.
The Greens have ballot status in Ohio..

“would also think that the CP would be reluctant to welcome a convicted felon on their ballot line.”
Quirk Boy = Many CP’ers think he is more a victim then a criminal. [Lake: and Space Cadet Cody Banks KNOWS this; wow, what a man!]
and then this is West Coast ‘smack down’ thug Doctor Gruntman and CONVICTED fraud defendant Nightmare Nightingale (now off of the California American Independent Party November 2010 General Election ballot)
I would also think that the CP would be reluctant to welcome a convicted felon on their ballot line.

I don’t think Jim Traficant would be a very good fit for the CP. I would also think that the CP would be reluctant to welcome a convicted felon on their ballot line. Perhaps his loss but the CPs gain that he didn’t do it.
Should’ve gone through the Ohio CP.
His loss.
Lulz.
This is too bad. C-PAN needs Traficant back. It is so boring without him.
