The Party for Socialism and Liberation Holds Forum In San Francisco

The Party for Socialism and Liberation is a socialist party based mainly in urban population centers in the United States. In the past couple of years they have run candidates for Mayor of Los Angeles and New York City. It is probably the most active nationally organized socialist party in the United States. A new event being held by the Party for Socialism and Liberation concerns socialism as the antidote to war, poverty, racism, and environmental destruction.

The people and the planet today are faced with a grave crisis. The BP oil spill has proved just how badly reckless corporate practices are damaging people’s livelihoods and the environment. Working people face continued high unemployment and drastic cuts to education and other social services. There is only one way forward, and that is to end the corporate domination of society by building a new society based on cooperation and solidarity. Socialism is the antidote for war, racism, poverty, discrimination and environmental destruction.

The struggle for socialism takes many forms, and means engaging in social movements for change today, while at the same time preparing for the future. That is the goal of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, a major force in activism and building a revolutionary movement in the United States.

Join us on the occasion of our sixth anniversary to discuss our participation in the people’s movements of the day and our perspective for a socialist future.
