That time has come again, readers. Independent Political Report is undoubtedly the number one resource for third party and independent candidate news.
We have generated some 5800+ blog posts and 95,000 comments under 4400 different tags. We’ve also logged over 1.15 million+ unique visitors and just under 3.3 million page views. IPR has been linked to, and quoted by, some of the largest blogs on the Internet as well as mainstream newspapers. Amongst the commenters and readers of Independent Political Report are elected officials at the local, state, and national level, party leaders, congressional staffers, and some of the nation’s most well-known activists and candidates.
We have accomplished a lot, as a community, and I hope to accomplish more. However, for Independent Political Report to expand there must be a dedicated audience willing to help build it by copying our links elsewhere, spreading word of the website, and, unfortunately, participating in fundraisers.
Consider for yourself how much IPR is worth to you, how often you visit it, how much you enjoy the blog–and please donate that amount. While we appreciate one-time donations, we are really looking for a sustainable way to grow IPR in the future. So we are looking for “subscription” donations, which are small donations which will be made each month. $5, $10, $15–every little bit helps. Remember, the mainstream media is not going to cover third parties or independent candidacies, so we’ve got to build our own alternative media. For the cost of a fast food meal each month, you can help sustain IPR–please do.
$2.50 — Friend of IPR
$5 — IPR Daily Reader
$10 — IPR Contributor
$25 — IPR Patron
$50 — IPR Benefactor
P.S. — I’m not going to lie to you and say “if you don’t donate to IPR, we’ll close our doors!”. That simply is not true. IPR is a labor of love for me and for all the other writers here. However, IPR can be better than it is now. The staff here at IPR has done all it can do to make IPR better, I hope you’ll help us. Depending on how much we can raise, I might be able to hire an editor part-time–which would mean far more content! If not, I’ll use the money to increase production of content, expand traffic, and grow the Ballot Access Reform Movement.

“What is Don lake even talking about? This site would be a lot better without him.”
Just prove me wrong
day after day
week after week
[a] personal experience
[b] multiple references
[c] official proclaimation
[the weakest of the three]
Eric:
It is Kira Willis in Ga, and you’re welcome. đ
(The “you’re welcome” is not in reference to the typo correction, but another story I may or may not share publicly in the future.)
Dondero: “How about more coverage of the Republican Party; which in many ways equals a Third Party in America today.”
Is this a serious suggestion or a joke? It seems too moronic to be serious, but it doesn’t seem very funny either.
Dondero: “In St. Clair County, Illinois, just last month a Republican candidate was kicked off the ballot after having collected 600 signatures. Only 300 were needed. The local Democrats who control every office in the County, formed this faux Election Review Commission, and quickly found that her signatures âwere not valid.â
What a miscarriage of justice! Given how difficult both Democrats AND Republicans make it for alternative party candidates to get on ballots, who here would care?
Milnes, are you going to take that insult from Lake?
I thought you two would be friends.
By the way, I’m currently making plans to go to Florida to convince Charlie Crist to support PLAS. Will happen in July sometime.

“ipr reader who previously commented on this post is not the same ipr reader who emailed the questions to the chair candidates just for the record ……….”
Lake: yeah, it did not ‘type’ like you, Thx
Eric Dondero // Jun 20, 2010:
“……… I gave up on the Libertarian Party and joined the Republicans way back in 1990.”
Lake: then why are you a regular poster on INDEPENDENT Political Report ????? ———– Oh I may have already answered that query!
Lake: Does Sir Eric even have a hint how inappropriate his postings are and, by extention, how *Nixon voice over* counter productive they are ?????
Lake: Oh wait, this also is a forum where Lake’s truths are snarked over Papul wing nut Impresario’s fantasy rantings and Bobby Milne’s delusions.
Lake: I do say ‘hur ray’ to these three on one platform, at least they are laying their ideas in ether world ‘concrete’ for the ages. As crappy as the future may get, W. A. R. and his $100T USA debt, new states PR and DC, and the country of my birth as a sinking global empire, at least I am represented by the little forest creature and it’s one finger salute as the hawk (eagle ???) swoopes down on the 21st Century!
……….. just saying
Milnes, even though I am still a dues-paying Libertarian Party member, I gave up on the Libertarian Party and joined the Republicans way back in 1990.
Two Reasons:
1. Idiotic foreign policy of non-interventionism/pacifism espoused by the vast majority of LPers
2. Lack of emphasis on actually winning elections, which sadly still exists in the LP today. Witness the thorough lack of real world Libertarian candidates for public office. There are a few. And they should be congratulated and supported. But only about 10% of LP candidates are mainstream and actually serious about winning elections.
(Lex Green – IL, Brandon Kelly – NH, Kiri Wallis – GA, Bruce Carrol – AZ, Ed Coleman – IN, et.al.)
the ipr reader who previously commented on this post is not the same ipr reader who emailed the questions to the chair candidates just for the record
Arin Sime was or is a Virginia LP member who has also run for office as a Libertarian.
Let’s say you want to donate something other than cash to IPR – maybe like sandwiches or gently used vegetables. Can we mail these in?
Robert,
Yes, you can have a DTS button on your homepage. We currently have one on our homepage at http://www.lpwv.org.
I believe the owner is a libertarian. Our former chair knew the individual, but the website is registered to a Arin Sime who was the chair of a county libertarian party.
Tab, you say the owner of donortownsquare is a libertarian?
Eric Dondero [the GOP mole] // Jun 19, 2010:
“………. the Republican Party ……… equals a Third Party in America.”
Mike [Lake: Ferguson, mediocre Lib and now mediocre GOP] appears on FOX News Freedom Watch reporting on Columbia [Missouri] SWAT raid. The SWAT raid happened in February. The video hit the internet in May [2010] and immediately went âviralâ.
The late night bursting into an otherwise quiet home. The gunshots. The sound of a dog yelping and then going silent after being shot. The image of a small boy being forced to step over his father at the command of police. The sights and sounds of a SWAT raid are not easy to watch.
These raids happen hundreds of times, everyday. Columbiaâs [Lake: misdirected, misguided bungle] just happened to end up on the internet.
[Mike is a non responsive bull shit politician whom claims to be a fiscal conservative. Yet he allowed my HS alma mater blow, waste, burn thru a quarter of a million dollars on a totally unnecessary fence.]
[Once, one of the power house regions in the mid west, this is a district that is now literally crumbling and disappearing from the Heart Land map! My former HS was ‘this close’ to closing down! My former JHS turned into a chem lab and then shuttered!]
[My destain for Mikey includes his lack of honesty and courage in standing tall against the deeply, deeply Dem school board. After multiple terms in the local city council he runs off to Columbia (middle of the state), leaving both his supporters and the city in the learch. ]
[During his watch, this area was spot lighted by Forbes Magazine as one of the future suburban slums of the 21st century. Surprise, surpirse ………..]
[GOP as third party ? The sooner the better! Followed by the #&$%@% Dems!]
tab, can I set up a campaign donors button with donorstownsquare?
E.D., if I am willing to give up on the dems, you should be willing to give up on the reps.
Hahahahhahaa, Eric Dondero you crack me up.
How about more coverage of the Republican Party; which in many ways equals a Third Party in America today.
In St. Clair County, Illinois, just last month a Republican candidate was kicked off the ballot after having collected 600 signagtures. Only 300 were needed. The local Democrats who control every office in the County, formed this faux Election Review Commission, and quickly found that her signatures “were not valid.”
It’s not just Third Parties who get screwed by America’s Authoritarians – the Democrat Party USA.
For those people who may not have PayPal, may I suggest setting up an account with DonorTownSquare (www.donortownsquare.com).
The LPWV has used this service for a couple years now and it has been great. You can generate donation reports to track all donors and allow them to set up subscription payments. It’s also an easy to use donation page: https://secure.donortownsquare.com/SSL/donate.aspx?sgst=0&amt=0&ai=876&qs=SS7G6
Plus DTS is owned by a libertarian so it’s even better to support the organization.
But everyone should pretty much have PayPal these days. There aren’t many people or merchants who don’t accept it as a form of payment.

âHow does someone contribute if they do not wish to disclose their identity?â
Ummmm. Send cash? [Lake: OR A DIME STORE MONEY ORDER WITH ANY OLD SIGNATURE ……..]
IPR, (as one person’s opinion) ………
Part of the ‘I don’t like Don Lake club’ ??? Then embarass me with the truth! Prove me wrong on an issue, any issue, viz a viz first hand knowledge and or multiple references.
It is not that difficult for most non Democans and or non Republicrats! Really! Really, really ……..
What is Don lake even talking about? This site would be a lot better without him.
Check’s in the mail. No, really, it is. Yes, really. It is. And I’m hanging on to the address so I can send another one sometime.
I wish to congratulate IPR on their successful journey from an idea, to stability, to growth. It should not be overlooked that a vision for this site gave birth to action and investment. It reminds me of…….capitalism. I visit this site often during the week and appreciate the information. Great job!
We can all be PALS. I’ll see what I can chip in.
Thanks George.
Thanks to the many readers and, most importantly, to the contributors and fellow bloggers who make IPR work.
I just signed up to contribute monthly. Thank you Trent for running this site. I read it regularly.
[a] Hmmmmmmm, there’s a Trent Hill at a car dealer ship in Southern California ——- well hey, you did not vote for Doctor Goo Goo and or Chelene Ward Nightingale in 2010!
[b] Hope fully we can work a morals clause type of thingie to knock Nightingale, the CONVICTED fraud defendant, off of the November ballot. (And yes, some cheap, free main stream media coverage ……..)
[c] Heck, I’ll run in her place. I’m photogenic also. Hey, my friends and family say so! All the time! Erh, some of the time!
[d] get a âdrug storeâ MO [Money Order]
[e] sign it with an other name
[f] in general, stay away from âMickey Mouseâ âDonald Duckâ âRichard Milhouse Nixonâ
[g] save that for the write ins on election day
[h] If I send money, I will be sure the write CASH all over the envelope ……….
I am a newbie on IPR.
IPR is great in this field.
Those who have benefits from IPR should donate some.
“How does someone contribute if they do not wish to disclose their identity?”
Ummmm. Send cash? lol.
The only other thing you could do is just send a check. It’ll have your name on it–but I have no way of knowing it is you, NewFederalist. It could be any commenter–I know several here who use names that are totally fictitious.
“if you go to dont have a paypal pay with credit or debit , it takes you to fill out a page that makes you use an email with no other paypal account attached , then create one. i would like to donate without making a paypal account.”
Making a paypal account would be the easiest way–paypal is super non-invasive and it doesn’t take long to make it work.
If you don’t want to make an account–I dont think there is a way to do it. You could send a snail mail check–that’s about it.
Those who can’t donate…remember that there are various advertisements located all over Independent Political Report. =)
Snail mail can be sent to

So if conniving Cody Banks, whom can not be trusted with the time of day, says some thing soothing and nice to you or about you, that is more important than heart felt corrective criticism ?????
Wanna shut me up or even get me to apologize ??????? Prove me wrong!
Unlike the world’s oldest living eleven year, Cody the Space Cadet, I do promise never to call you a ‘Maroon’!
Your feelings ? My feelings? I do not care (with the possible exception of Saint Richard Winger)!
Plz for give me sparkie, but I am waaaaaaaaaaay too worried about the 21st Century down ward spiral of the nation of my birth!

susan it takes me to log in page , dont know what to do
Bravo.
let’s say I don’t want to send money online.
Say I wanna mail a check…perhaps even more than a $50.00 check.
Where do I mail that check for IPR?
The check is in the envelope. What’s the snail mail address?
LG, you can use your VISA via paypal.
How does someone contribute if they do not wish to disclose their identity?
Trent , anyway to donate monthly w/o using paypal? i wanna give a $5 a month but only have a VISA
Skyler, thanks. Glad to have you reading man.
Hey, Skyler. Good man.
I’ll chip-in. I’m a proud Democratic strategist, but of all the reading I do, ranging from the NY Times and Washington Post to local blogs, I always stop by IPR.
Keep doing what you’re doing!
Trent, if I get 35 million, be glad to slip IPR a few krugerrands.
lol, I can see this isn’t going to be a successful fundraiser.
PLAS is passe… PSLA is the way!
No kidding.
I say Milnes should pony up for all the great free advertising PLAS is getting in the comments section!
You’re like sunshine in a bag, Don. You always bring positivity and happiness! It delights me.
“However, IPR can be better than it is now.”
and for ZERO MONEY, plz keep on working on fair ness, and not just ‘Third Party Watch’ / Faux News ‘fair and balanced’ bull shit.
Thanks again, altho you (guys) really blew it on the July 2009 OUT OF DATE Chelene Ward Nightingale ‘bovine escrecia’ and the over 400 replies.
