Senate Candidate among Ten Independents to Qualify for Ballot in Arkansas

From Arkansas Online:

Ten independent candidates were certified for the Nov. 2 general election ballot today after they collected the necessary number of signatures for their respective races, the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office said.

Twenty-three people filed notices of candidacy to run as independents during the March filing period, but only the ten certified today submitted the required nominating petitions by the deadline.

The group includes one U.S. Senate candidate and two congressional candidates.

The independent candidate for US Senate, Trevor Drown, released the following statement on his website:

Yesterday we received official notification by the Secretary of State’s office that we received enough signatures and I am a certified candidate for US Senate for the November Ballot. We now wait to see who else will be selected. I would like to thank the people of Arkansas who made this happen. . . .

I have been asked to speak at the Rolling Thunder XXIII Memorial Day event in Washington DC at the end of the month. More information can be found here.

Once again, I would like to thank the more than 1,000 people of Arkansas who stepped up and gathered signatures as well as supported this effort.  The primary election day is May 18 and although I will not be on the ballot, please vote. It is up to you if you want to vote for a Senate candidate, but there are so many other elected positions that need good leadership and your vote is needed.

Be Safe and God Bless!

Trevor Drown
