A press conference uniting leaders across the political spectrum will be held in Sacramento on Tuesday. The speakers will discuss their opposition to Proposition 14, the Top Two Primaries Act.
California leaders from the American Independent, Democratic, Green, Libertarian, Peace and Freedom, and Republican Parties will be in attendance.
The press conference follows the KQED Radio debate between Richard Winger and Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado, which occurred at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10.
Under the influence of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lt. Gov. Maldonado, big corporations, big business leaders, political action committees, bankers, and wealthy retirees have contributed substantial sums of money to support Proposition 14: http://cal-access.sos.ca.gov/Campaign/Committees/Detail.aspx?id=1322507&session=2009&view=late1.

Even with all the history one can study, it still bothers me when people act surprised that corruption and backroom deals take place.
No competition equals easy run. No brainer.
Tobin is running as a Libertarian and easily picked up on the fact that the top two is a trump card for lazy ballot access laws. It would force other parties to focus on the percentage of a Presidential race. It would also lower the cost of local or state races. The two major parties are hurting for money. A cheap race is also a victory.
recently outwardly attacked Chuck Baldwin, the Presidential nominee of the CP, as a #1 enemy …….

“…….. sort of pissed that they have invited the Keyes-faction of the AIP ……….”
[so, what the, and so …….]
Post Script: there is no California Constitution Party ………..
Richard,
I’m not pissed at you guys, more pissed in general. The necessity of the situation sort-of demands that you invite the SoS-recognized faction of the AIP, I get that. I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear.
Mark Seidenberg, of comment #11 above, is allied with Mark Robinson and Ed Noonan to form the corruption faction of the AIP. It is this faction which deliberately filed false documents with the Secretary of State office to deceive it regarding the true status of the AIP. While they may pretend to oppose 14 on the surface they are working to undermine it in the background as part of their plan to minimally neutralize and ideally destroy the 3rd party conservative movement in the nation. This is because while they are Republican Party moles their greater allegiance/association is to the Anti-Defamation League and its well documented working partner, the Southern Poverty Law Center. Since the Constitution Party has been dedicated to stopping the continuous war footing of the nation, inclusive of non-declaration of wars in opposition to Constitutional war declaration mandates, the ADL, as a representative of Israel, has found it necessary to destroy the CP as an alternative for conservatives in order to leave them with only the pro-war Republican Party as an outlet for their perspectives. You will note that the fake ” America’s Independent Party ” of Alan Keyes is also pro-war. The SPLC has recently outwardly attacked Chuck Baldwin, the Presidential nominee of the CP, as a #1 enemy, You will note that Alan Keyes, the surface leader of the Robinson faction, did not make the enemies list of the SPLC. The inward attack has been to send ADL agents, of which I believe that Mark Seidenberg is just one such person, into the AIP in order to attack it and destroy the CP as a result of this attack. Hence the attendance of Mark Robinson at any such press conference as noted, as part of and in addition to his campaign for ” Governor, ” is celebrated by these controlling powers to give credibility to agents working on behalf of a foreign power in what I consider to be actions against the interests of our nation. Robinson is not whom he claims nor appears to be. He is a figurehead for a much more powerful, and I believe sinister, force which is working to manipulate our nation toward its own objectives. I appreciate what Richard has said but it is very important to be aware that infiltrators/saboteurs have been send into political parties for just such a time as now – to betray us at the critical moments of critical battles. Recent news articles have quoted opponents of the Tea Parties as openly encouraging saboteurs to infiltrate them. Such activity has already been occurring for many years. This is about far more than ” cheating at cards.” The soldiers who will emerge from the Trojan Horse have every intent to betray the nation for their own ” 30 pieces ” and they will accomplish this betrayal by any means possible.
Don J. Grundmann, D.C. Vice-Chairman American Independent Party, California branch of the Constitution Party
Richard, your comments got caught in the spam filter, but I got them out.
Warning! Don J. Grundmann has not been on the American Independent Party State Central
Committee since September 2, 2008. He has never been a Vice Chairman of the American
Independent Party.
Sincerely, Mark Seidenberg, Vice Chairman,,
American Independent Party.
I just received a phone call from Richard Winger. He’s apparently experiencing some problems with his computer making it impossible for him to post any comments here, but he asked me to relay a message letting everybody know that they did not choose sides (in the AIP) when inviting representatives to participate in tomorrow’s press conference.
We did not pick sides. I called Gary Odom before I called anyone else in the AIP or Constitution Party, but I just got voice mail and no return call. I have called him a 2nd time and again just got voice mail.
We didn’t pick sides. I actually telephoned Gary Odom before anyone else in the AIP and/or the Constitution Party, but Gary didn’t answer and he didn’t respond for 24 hours. Some time later I phoned Gary Kreep, who is personally strongly opposed to Prop. 14, and asked him for advice, and he communicated with Markham. It is extremely important to the fight against Prop. 14 that all six ballot-qualified parties are united, and also there are consequences that the Cal. Sec. of State still recognizes Markham as state chair and the almost 2 years of litigation has not produced any meaningful result. The primary coming up will elect new members of the AIP state central committee.
Fighting about this is like two people on the Titanic fighting about cheating at cards, as the ship is about to sink. Prop. 14 is the biggest threat to minor parties in the U.S. since the avalanche of horrible ballot access law changes in 1969 and 1971, which was caused by the major parties being so shocked at what George Wallace had done in 1968, getting 13%, when no one else outside the two major parties had polled as much as 3% since 1924.
Ross – I am sure that Free and Equal did not realize that by inviting Robinson they are not only inviting a criminal element ( I have documented his criminal actions at TheCorruptionOfAlanKeyes.blogspot.com ) but a Trojan Horse who is actually working to undermine their work in the background while pretending to aid them on the surface; i.e; he is a betrayer and traitor who is busy stabbing them ( and all of us ) in the back.
Don J. Grundmann, D.C. Vice-Chairman American Independent Party, California branch of the Constitution Party
Ah, my bad. It doesn’t seem like Free and Equal would really want to pick sides in that fight, though.
No it isn’t, there’s Jim King & company
Mark Robinson has actually made a statement that 14 has some good factors in it. As the leader of the corruption faction of the party he won’t be there to oppose it but simply to show up at a press conference that gives recognition to his criminality in attacking the party. The REAL AIP, the non-corruption party faction led by Chairman Jim King, is actively working to stop 14. He will be a Trojan Horse at the press conference just as he is in the state political scene.
Don J. Grundmann, D.C. Vice-Chairman American Independent Party, California branch of the Constitution Party
Isn’t that all there is in California, Trent?
The California Secretary of State still recognizes the Keyes faction. The lawsuits over which is the legitimate faction have been delayed and delayed, so it looks as though the only way to settle the intra-party issue is through the June 2010 primary election. We only started putting this press conference together on Sunday, and I telephoned Gary Odom on Sunday. He is insulted because he thinks I called him too late, but he doesn’t realize that it was even later notice for the Democrats…today! That is why they don’t know yet who will speak for them. Markham Robinson has the virtue of saying he would be there; good for him.
I’m sort of pissed that they have invited the Keyes-faction of the AIP.
