Mary Starrett Now Only Three Votes Behind

May 26th, 2010 · 6 Comments

We have previously reported on Mary Starrett’s run for a seat on the Yamhill County Commission. Starrett is the former Communications Director of the national Constitution Party. In the on-going counting of that race, Mary Starrett has gained 10 votes and is now only 3 votes behind her competitor, Mary Stern. Barring a massive swing in the remaining write-in votes, the race will head to a recount and then, likely, to a November runoff.

Trent, why is she a former communications director? I wasn’t aware she wasn’t anymore.

Her website has her listed as the current one, but my understanding is that she stepped down in order to run for this position.

The link says that they Mary’s are heading for a November runoff.

They likely are. Only if the recount shows that no one scored a majority.

There will be a run-off election but the final tally showed her in the lead by 4 votes.
