This morning, ballot access expert and California resident and Christina Tobin campaign manager Richard Winger faced off against California Lt. Gov. Abel Moldonado on KQED, San Francisco’s public radio station, on Proposition 14. Prop 14 is a measure that would establish a top two primary system in California, and all of the political parties in the state have come out against it. Winger represents the Libertarian Party and those who are against Prop 14, while Moldonado is the sponsor of the referendum. You can listen to this below (the first ten minutes or so is another piece about Prop 14). The callers overwhelmingly agreed with Winger.

I hope the voters agree with Richard as much as the callers on the show did.
Moldonado comes off like an idiot in this. “I don’t know where Richard’s getting his numbers from”–Richard had JUST said he got all his numbers from the Washington Secretary of State.
Maldonado just speaks in vagueties and platitudes. He just sounds silly. Richard gives facts, statistics, specifics.

Maldenado seemed to really want the people to decide who is elected. Well, as long as they only get two choices in Nov. If he really wants the people to decide, let them all in the general election and do away with taxpayer funded primaries.
