Judge Jim Gray Supports Marijuana Legalization Proposition in California

A measure to legalize marijuana in California is getting some support from long-time Libertarian Party members. The most high-profile Libertarian Party member in California to endorse and campaign for the measure is Judge Jim Gray, who is a Superior Court Judge in Orange County, California.

Underscoring the importance the backing of law enforcement will play, Lee’s campaign on Wednesday highlighted the support of retired Orange County Superior Court Judge James P. Gray, a former L.A. County deputy sheriff and Torrance police officer.

With polls showing that a slim majority of voters support legalization, the legalization campaign will be trying to appeal to a slice of undecided voters who are mostly mothers. “It’s always easier for people to say no than to say yes for an initiative,” said Mark Baldassare, the pollster for the Public Policy Institute of California.

Expect to see more high-profile Libertarian endorsements of the measure in the coming months.

I saw an interview you made on you tube today
and I’m shocked , finally someone with some brains, figured out that the war on Drugs is stupid ( i know bad word use age but best i can think of right now) its just like the the ban on alcohol, all it did was make the people of the U.S. victims of it and the out laws that took over importing and making of it and made the mobs of that time, with the war on drugs it is even worse with the drug cartels that have now became the ones controlling most of the imported drugs and making them rich and powerful while the people of the us have to pay a small fortune to cover the coast of this (War on Drugs) or as i see it a war against the people right to free will , the right to prasue freedom and happiness as we see fit, its not the goverment’s job to police our bodies and minds. at least when in school i never saw that in the bill of rights or bill of no rights as it should be seen now, i can make a call any time or place and say someone is dealing drugs and they will be there in a hartbeat to bust down the door with no other proff than that. buty if i see a real crime, like people being in the U.S. without a green card or pappers ,can i justr call thatr in? no i have to give all my info name age place of res. socsalsercity number phone nuber and the list goes on? lets be honest , its nothing about whats right or wrong, but about control of the population and how to make money for the goverment and corperations , why cant you report an ill, alien? because it will make it so companies have to actually pay for there people, decent wages to work and end most of our unemployment to get ride of the ill from Mexico.

Another bit of trivia is that economist Milton Friedman contributed to Judge Jim’s U.S. Senate campaign. It was one of the only significant non-GOP or Club for Growth donations that Friedman made.

I also discovered that Judge Gray is from the 48th Congressional District in CA. His assemblymen are Van Tran or Chuck Devore. In 2006 his congressional district was the site of the biggest third party news that election year–Jim Gilchrist’s run for congress.

  4. Wonderful guy! Gained complete state endorsement in 2004 by the state level Reform Party of California. Some off the wall radicals in southern california went for some pro veterans Chiropractor in Northern California. Some guy named Donald Grundmann.

Live and learn, live and learn!
