The Green Party’s Pat LaMarche writes in the Bangor Daily News in her weekly column…

Friday is the 240th anniversary of the Boston Massacre. There will be festivities this weekend hosted by the Bostonian Society. They say they’ll re-enact the event during which “a small group of British soldiers fired into an angry mob that had gathered in front of the Old State House. Five citizens were killed. In a highly publicized trial the court ruled that most of the soldiers had acted in self-defense, however the people of Boston called the event a Massacre.”

Huffington Post is reporting tonight on the Green Party’s Rich Whitney.

Rich Whitney, the Green Party candidate for Guv in Illinois released he’s proposed budget today.

Huffington Post says about the Green Party candidate…

Rich Whitney, the Green Party candidate for Illinois governor, announced his proposal to balance the state budget on Thursday.

The announcement comes a day after Pat Quinn’s annual budget address, in which the sitting governor painted the budget crisis as a choice between massive cuts for schools and an income tax increase.

But Whitney has presented a comprehensive plan, incorporating ideas from Republicans, Democrats and independent budget analysts. The plan would generate nearly $16 billion in additional revenues, generating a budget surplus of over $2 billion.

Also tonight from Green Party Watch..

    A new Green Party U.S. Senate candidate…Duane Roberts…

Here’s what Green Party Watch says about Duane Roberts..

Duane Roberts, a longtime community organizer and activist from Anaheim, will officially file paperwork with the Orange County Registrar of Voters office today to put his name on the June primary ballot as the Green candidate for United States Senate.

Roberts, who announced his intention of challenging Barbara Boxer for her seat earlier this year in Irvine, recently completed a successful drive to collect more than enough signatures required to qualify for the nomination and avoid paying a hefty $3480 filing fee.

“I intend to mount an aggressive statewide campaign,” says Roberts. “Boxer’s support of the so-called ‘health care reform’ bill, which in reality, is yet another taxpayer bailout of Wall Street billionaires, is one of the key factors motivating me to enter this race.”

Good quote..from Blogger Chris Bowland follows..

Let’s hope Chris Bowland takes next powerful step and runs as Green Party candidate now…

There are equally upset conservatives looking for home in Green Party..

“The liberal wing of the Democratic Party is now in shock,” says longtime Democratic activist-turned-blogger Chris Bowland, 52, of Santa Rosa, Calif. “It’s very clear the party hates us and has no respect for its base.”

Bowland, who this month changed his party registration to the Green Party, says the Democrats are going to pay for it at the polls in November.
