Libertarian Party blog: ‘Surprise: new Republican Senator wants more government-run health care’

LP blog:

Republican Senator-elect Scott Brown disclosed his hope of implementing more government-run health care in a recent post-campaign speech. Brown said he feels that a "basic plan for everyone" is important.

Republican politicians generally do not favor limiting or reducing government. Most Republicans want to increase the size and scope of government. Mr. Brown is an excellent example.

    I believe he was already on record as supporting the Mass health care plan, at least as a state senator?

    Yes, he co-wrote it and said he wants to bring it to all the other states during the campaign.

    So it wasn’t a “surprise” at all for many of us.
