The mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada, Oscar Goodman, has declared his independence from the two-party system and changed his affiliation to “non-partisan.” Goodman’s wife, Carolyn Goodman, has done the same. The change has provoked speculation as to whether the mayor will seek the office of governor in 2010. The AP reports:
Goodman said Tuesday that he hasn’t decided yet whether he’ll run for Nevada governor in 2010. But he says changing his party registration from Democrat keeps his options open.

There have been many stories over the years about Goodman’s praise for the Green Party and the friendship he and Nader developed during a political & media cruise to Alaska in the summer of 2007.
You might say the chances are good…that Goodman will be the Green Party’s candidate for governor in 2010.

Congratulations Oscar. You are now free to move about the political arena.

I honestly think non-partisan elections should be an idea that deserves a good look. It would encourage people to you know actually research their candidates instead of straight down voting.

I would be more inclined to believe this if it was not coming from the “Independent” “Green” Party of Virginia.

Could you link to some of those stories about Goodman’s relationship with Nader?

Green Party fan – or should I say Carey Campbell (or one of the other Indy Greens of Virginia) LIARS! (who were previously banned from IPR)
The Indy Greens are in no way associated with the Green Party, and there comments about potential Green Party candidacies have no connection to reality.
Carey Campbell, while a contributor to “TPW” claimed Michael Bloomberg, Kinky Freidman, Jesse Ventura had all been invited to speak at the 2008 Green Party national convention, this was a lie (Anyone with the slightest knowledge of the GP knows this is sheer lunacy), just like his coments here and elsewhere on IPR.
One IP address connected to the Indy Greens and Carey Campbell has already been band by IPR because Campbell was impersonating other people and making false claims about peoples political positions.
GREEN PARTY FAN – Is a DELUSIONAL LIAR who only hurts third party politics, if Carey Campbell and the Indy Greens were to enmass join the Dem/Rep parties more Independents and Third Party candidates would surely be elected.

Mike,
Correct, except that it was GPW, not IPR, that banned the IGP. IPR just reported on it. We had the same problem with the same person posting as multiple candidates that the IGP endorsed without their knowledge or approval, but we have never yet banned any commenters here.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Goodman, your one of us now.

That’s to be expected from Vegas, the city of whores and sinners, that Goodman leaves the noble Democratic party, about to change the world with the Catholic Trotskyist revolution, in order to consort with satanic criminal Ralph Nader.
And the Earth shall receive Bart Stupak, Dennis Kucinich and Keith Ellison as the Three Kings like unto the wisemen of the Star of Bethlahem. Amen.

So CT, I haven’t seen you in a while on IPR. How have things been going for you?

Thanks TPR. I have been quite busy due to other important life concerns, as well as some important missions for the Vatican and Hugo Chavez. One of those missions was attempting to campaign for Robert Milnes’s PLAS strategy in Massachusetts, but I was seriously injured; however, I soon recovered with God’s help and returned to other missions. I am taking a break from missions for Christmas and New Years, and after that I will probably have to take another break from IPR for a few months. But until then I will be posting my commentary loudly and proudly. I hope you enjoyed the commentary of my ex-friend, The Last Conservative, who I invited to post here during the time I was gone. However, we are no longer friends and he has agreed to stop posting on IPR forever.
So how many candidates have you endorsed so far? Maybe at least one will win!

I’ve kind of lost count. But nonetheless, I am pretty certain at least one won.

No way he’ll go IAP of course, but he may indirectly help our voter reg. rolls.

Mike Indiana,
You’re a brave hiding behind your key board.
Grow up.
How many candidates have you put on the ballot?
How many petition signatures have you gathered?
Jerks like you give the internet a bad name.

He has been a friend to the local LP as well . He met with former chair Duensing and current Chair Silvestri sometime ago to see how he could help in the anti patriot act efforts. he didnt like them because they gave the feds access to hotel registration records , thus perhaps affecting our bottom line.
The LPNevada does not have a gubernatorial candidate as of yet and Im almost certain we wont. If we dont , Goodman will have my vote. He is adored by the people here , he’s a total Vegas character and I suspect he has a good chance of winning.

He signed the marijuana decriminalization petition, but did not use the correct address (he put down city hall).
Andy thinks I was the one who got the signature, but it was actually another petitioner at the same event, an art gallery showing. Andy insists I have a false memory, lol.
Has Root tried to get him on his show?
