That Guardian article makes a lot of sense, China holds all the cards in this debate. Western governments can't pressure it because China might shut off the tap of easy credit. They'll laugh all the way to the bank as cap-and-trade schemes drive even more industry to their welcoming shores.

Climate change is the one area leftist campaigners ought to be able to point out a great victory. The un-edited data shows a significant drop in global temps since 2006 (the year D's retook Congress), certainly a significant achievement for those who trust that politicians can manipulate the weather.

I've profited from some of that as my air conditioning expenses have dropped to near zero in back-to-back record cold summers. I'm just not sure how long we can go on feeding the world with all the shortened growing seasons though.

Now I've had my fun, go ahead and attack me and point out the scientific fact that several years of warming is a crisis demanding drastic action while several years of cooling is just "weather," a temporary blip.

While I'm all for some good ole America-bashing, the true culprit seems to be China, according to people who were at the summit.
