WHERE DO WE GO NOW?
What is our mission in 2010? It should be to teach ourselves why America’s political tradition worked and what will happen if we change it. Obama wants us to change. He wants us to become like the Old World America left in the 18th century. He wants us to forget what the libertarian 19th century Democrats provided that gave us so much prosperity when compared to the stagnation of the Old World. He wants the American society well-oiled and ordered so the few elite can rule the many, for our own good, of course. America’s individual freedom has never been tried elsewhere, though partially approached in some more modern nations. Yet, 80% of the world’s people are struggling to exist, many starving, all under one dictatorship or another. Not so in America, unless deciding to be struggling and unhappy. We need to teach ourselves the difference so we can make the best decision of whether America will fall in line, get on its knees and be ruled by the few, or renew its pledge to individual freedom. That’s our task! Find help

Melty,

What do you mean by endorsement?

3 of the last 22 national LP blog posts cover Joe Kennedy, including 2 of the last 10:

Joe Kennedy running for Massachusetts Senator
posted by Staff on Nov 16, 2009

Joe Kennedy, a member of the Libertarian Party, is running to fill the unexpired Senate term of the deceased Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy. The special election will be held on January 19, 2010.

David Blau, chair of the Libertarian Party of Massachusetts, says, "While [Mr. Kennedy] will appear on the ballot as an Independent due to a provision of state law, I have spoken with him at length and believe him to be an excellent libertarian candidate."

Visit Joe Kennedy's campaign website.
http://joekennedyforsenate.com/

In a November 2 email to the Libertarian Party, Mr. Kennedy reported, "In the past weeks I have attended a number of rallies and grown my support base. During that process I have been converting a number of individuals in the Massachusetts area to the Libertarian way of thinking through television and radio appearances, rallies, email and mostly social media networks and website memberships. I have raised a small amount of money for myself and encouraged numerous people to join and give to National. I am 2/3 done with my signature campaign and I am committed to both getting on the ballot and expanding the base of our party."

On his website, Mr. Kennedy claims no relation to the family or relatives of President John F. Kennedy. He was born in Boston, has spent most of his life in Massachusetts, and works in the technology field.

Massachusetts Democrat wants Libertarian Joe Kennedy in debates
posted by Staff on Dec 14, 2009

Martha Coakley, the Massachusetts Democratic candidate for U.S. Senator, has indicated that she favors, and may insist on, including Libertarian Joe Kennedy in candidate debates.

Kennedy will officially appear as an independent on the ballot. He is not related to the late Senator Edward Kennedy. The special election will be held on January 19, 2010.

The Boston Globe recently reported on Coakley's statements.

In the campaign for the special election to replace the late Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy, Libertarian candidate Joe Kennedy is making waves. (Joe Kennedy is not related to Edward Kennedy, and will appear on the ballot as an independent.)

The Democratic candidate wants Kennedy included in all debates -- the Republican candidate seems to be dancing around the issue.

The Libertarian Association of Massachusetts endorsed Joe Kennedy for U.S. Senate and donated over $1000 from our Federal PAC in support of his campaign. This October, Mr. Kennedy was elected to the Libertarian Association of Massachusetts State Committee. LAMA is the national party affiliate in Massachusetts.

Mr. Kennedy is a dues-paying member of the national party, and has been since this spring.

Robert,

That has been the case. People frequently Google "tea party" terms and come across the BTP site.

I always encourage those newcomers to read the platform, program, and bylaws so that they understand exactly what our organization stands for when they join.

Wait, I'm confused.

He's a politician? I'd say he's a citizen who happens to be running for office.

1) "Politician" tends to carry some very negative connotations.
2) "Politicians" have generally been elected at least once. I'd say that he's still an activist, rather than an activist-cum-politician.

With the "Tea Party" movement in the news, I wonder if the BTP has seen an increase in membership.

I would like for everyone who contributes to these 4 special elections this coming month to say so in IPR comments. & if you intend to volunteer for the campaigns. & if you donate or volunteer on my websites. I'd like to hear whether you donated to help out a poor depressed down on his luck guy or for me to get a motorhome to double as campaign vehicle. & campaign for these candidates AND myself.

People are just dumb enough to vote this guy in on his name. And that's a good thing! It's time we didn't underestimate the stupidity of the American voter and the amount of media brainwashing they have undergone.... and take advantage of it.
