I feel like I’m friendly to Libertarian principles (although not a party member) but Root repels me with this. I can understand his appeal to some on the inside of the party – he’s a good talker, and he’s got a lot of money if he’s willing to spend it – but IMHO stuff like this is not going to broaden the party’s appeal. Some strands of libertarianism have something of an association with racist thought anyway (whether deserved or not – see the Ron Paul newsletter stuff during the GOP primary.) Reinforcing that association in people’s minds can’t be a good thing, can it? Root seems to think so, but I don’t get it.

Root would be on firm Libertarian principles if he was merely attacking the patronage system that has arisen from our system of government. Instead he attacks the racial makeup of the purported beneficiaries of the current administration.

It’s enough to make me want to wretch when I remember that I voted for him less than a year ago. I just hope that nobody reminds me of it in the future.

For the record: Libertarians do not care who the beneficiaries are from the theft of our children’s futures. We are more concerned with the continued theft.

Goldman’s been having an array of PR challenges of late. After taking TARP and changing to a bank holding company, they recently announced that their bonuses will be returning to pre-08 levels. The code I saw was this was a means to deflect some of the criticism for their compensation practices.

Nothing new here, as corporations often use charitable endeavors to soften a fraying image.

Wayne dances on this third-rail issue with his theory to his peril. Why trot out speculative theories when the Obama Administration has PLENTY of transparently anti-liberty/anti-peace initiatives under way?

I’ve noticed their little (bowel) movement tends to attract some of the least intelligent, good looking and capable people around. Perhaps, having lost out in the genetic lottery, they need desparately to imagine that they are superior to someone.

Wayne Root’s article is racist and reprehensible.

What I find worse is, there are lessons to be learned about why the government/corporate collaborations are problematic. But, anyone reading this article would be less likely to want to study the true problems.

Also, it is hysterical to hear that Obama is favoring people of color and minorities. In reality, Obama is offering the same old corporate welfare; war that uses people of color as cannon fodder; and favoritism of the elite.

Please ask Black Agenda Report, Cynthia McKinney, and others if any people of color are benefitting from the Obama administration. They just aren’t.

It isn’t time to hate minorities yet because they are happy or experiencing prosperity.

Might be interesting for someone who is less racist to take Wayne Root’s article, and rewrite with a voice of reason. Kind of like translating from hate-speech to a political discourse.

Why say “reverse racism” when you could simply say “racism”? Root goes on to explain that he doesn’t mean it that way, but just by saying it, twice, it makes it sound like he thinks there’s correct and incorrect racism.
The other thing that gets me is that liberal/conservative dichotomy running throughout. Republicans succeeded in making “liberal” a dirty word years ago. It, like “conservative”, is rather bereft. Those words lock you into the two-party paradigm mindset, the very thing that needs freeing up.
I sed all this before on account o Root always talks this way.

Was @ 3 & 4 racist? Probably.

But it was Root who put race on the table.

Root makes an issue of Obama’s race.

Root takes the economic issue of Wall Street bailouts, and injects race into it.

Root is encouraging racists with his racist-tinged Obama-bashing.

So it Root’s race-baiting blows up in his face, it’s his moral fault.
