Hawaii Green Party Launches Petition to Get Back on Ballot
November 26th, 2009
The Hawaii Green Party recently obtained this newspaper publicity for its petition drive to re-qualify the party for the ballot for 2010.
The Green Party has placed candidates on the Hawaii ballot in every state/federal election, starting in 1992. The only other states about which that can be said are California, Maine, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin.

Don Lake at comment #2 –
Hey, Don, are you connected to the Green Party in Hawaii?
I thought Justin Raimondo’s piece from Wednesday over at antiwar, “Who Will Protest Obama’s War” would be a good one to hook onto here.
It’s raining in Long Island.
Things have been slow in the political world. The Times Union – big NY paper covering Capitol of Albany – had not posted all day Thanksgiving. Elizabeth Benjamin at The Daily Politics did.
Wonder if things will be alive in the political blogosphere again?
Or, are people with money and power all tucked in for the big weekend?
I will be interested to check the sitemeter stats here at IPR that everyone can look at by clicking on the green graph symbol in a box, that shows up at either the top or bottom of the page every time you open IPR.
Robert Milnes @4, upon reflection, maybe I will take back that Bah Humbug Thanksgiving comment. Maybe I am too fixated on the miserable part of my life. There are many parts of my life that are not miserable. Amazing actually. That I have lived so long while others have not. That I have fairly good health while others do not. That my country is fairly well off and others are not. That we have war but it is not in our country while others have that. Thanks giving is a good tradition. A worthy holiday. I wish everyone had the things I have and am thankful for.
The Last Conservative, thank you & happy Thanksgiving to you! Yes, I recall. I was wondering why Catholic Trotskyist didn’t whack the Protestant Stalinist upside the head with an ice ax. Which I assume he carries in the event of an opportunity for payback. But no?
& one person volunteered to help my campaign the other day. Last year a few volunteered but the campaign never really got going. So, A few more volunteers would be great too! Scott Baier volunteered as campaign manager a few times & resigned few times! Skyler & I kicked it about him being campaign manager. I’ve wanted Tom K. to be media spinmeister but he went off on his own! I asked Brad S. to be webmaster & got a bunch of convoluted negative vibes back. I asked George Donnelly but never heard much of anything. I asked Mary Ruwart to be vp. Man did she slam the door on that! I asked Susan H., ENM, Barbara Waymire, Angela K, Miche who thinks I’m cute. Negative. Maybe I’ll get desperate enough to ask poor Christine S. So, volunteers?
Happy Thanksgiving Robert. As ProPot AntiPot mentioned a few days ago, Catholic trotskyist was attempting to campaign for the PLAS in Massachusetts a couple weeks ago, but due to an unfortunate incident he was forced to discontinue. This shows how difficult the situation is. But at least someone tried.
Thanksgiving? Ha! Bah, humbug. It is just another miserable day for me. Now if Walmart closed, THAT would really be miserable. Relax with family? Hah! The only possibility for that was for me to bum a free meal off my cousin & husband on the other side of the trailer park. Since I’m not welcome at my sister’s. My dad is there & my mother is dead. But since my uncle moved out, I thought maybe my cuz would invite him there & me too. But no, her husband doesn’t want him around I think because he is trying to get the both to quit drinking. But unc fell of the wagon recently for a binge then got back on. So they could use that as leverage against him. But no. So I spent the day wondering what the heck is wrong with the computer. I decided to go to Walmart. Cat was lying on computer but I said oh well. When I got back from Walmart it was on! According to the clock it lost a day. How did it turn itself back on? I don’t know but I’m not complaining. I note in comments elsewhere some remarks about me & getting a motorhome handed to me. May I say I do not agree. First I have my eye on 2 OLD CLASS C Ford chassis models. One is in NJ asking price 7000. The other is in Bullhead City, AZ, the guy came down in asking price to 5500. Now, I’ve spend some change on my own campaign. Money I really can’t afford. Second, what about the other candidates? No. not Kubby & Tom & poor Christine Smith et al. I mean the reactionaries. Bama & McC & Palin going Rouge & Bush & Kerry et al? They have BIG Class A motorhomes that cost well over 100,000 plus all the extras. Have you seen those? Almost a small city on wheels! & who pays for that? They themselves don’t, that’s for sure. & they COULD, that’s for sure. & I’ll bet not one of them has even thought about putting solar panels on the roof. So, if you want my campaign to get going, & you want me to go to MA & campaign for the Libertarian chair endorsed Independent for U.S. Senate & campaign for the PLAS Experiment also in CA for the Green in the republican dominated district there, you had better start putting your $ where you you want them to go. NOT to Ron Paul, please!
Kimbewy! I wanted to say “Hijack!”. Now I can’t say “Hijack!”. Oh, mannnnnnnn.

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
If you aren’t already doing so, hope you find some people to relax and celebrate with.
Anyone want to use this as an open thread? There won’t be much going on in politics today. (But, thanks to Richard Winger at Ballot Access News for keeping some good news bubbling…)
