Once again, New York City’s public campaign financing system is to thank for an unusually high budget Green Party campaign. This time, Green city council candidate David Pechefsky planned to dig into his $35,000 war chest in the final days before the election, while the Democratic candidate he is running against only had about $26,000 on hand on October 28th. Throughout the whole race the Democrat will have outspent the Green candidate, but in the past few days the Green has supposedly been spending more.
