Lynne Stewart case. Complicated. Ideally any defendant should have any attorney they want. But reality...I wrote about such matters after my experience in federal court. IMO in order to have a fair trial a defendant should be represented by oneself with assistance or by a compatible attorney-one with whom the defendant shares a lot in common, esp. in political cases. in order to be a true representative, advocate, champion. It looks like to me she had little compatibility-in common-with these defendants & they got her involved in their manipulation. She shot herself in the foot.

It depends on how you define "steal". If to obtain by misrepresentation, he stole it from the real progressives. The Supreme Court ruling that gave GWB the presidency was a different kind of steal.

Obama didn't steal the presidency. Unlike Mini-Bush, he actually was elected. If he hadn't been, Hillary Clinton would have. It was not the Republicans' year, as they confirmed by their throwaway nomination of a has-been in the early stages of senility at the top of their ticket, rounded out with a (largely unintentionally) comic neophyte underneath.

Not that I like Obama; I would have voted for Cynthia over him, easily. I agree with everything she says here, although I don't know anything about the Lynne Stewart case and she does not explain it here, so I don't know about that...but everything else, I'd sign myself.

Another example of an out of power progressive begging an in power reactionary. Ironically, Obama got the nomination by duping progressives-Tom Hayden hold up your hand-into supporting him, mostly on his supposed anti-war positions. Obama stole the presidency from you, Cynthia!

I think Greg Jocoy was there as well.

Haven't heard of any Libertarians taking part, though I was there in spirit!
