Link and early returns for NYC Mayor’s race

Both NBC and the NY Times have called the 2009 NYC Mayor race for Bloomberg. Though, there is not a big percentage of polling results in. And, as of 11 minutes ago, the AP says that Bloomberg and Thompson are in a close race. At NY1 there is a chart with numbers for all the third party candidates in races including Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate, all the way to City Council members.

Rev Billy either wins lottery, or creates campaign performance art

Because Reverend Billy Talen is a theatrical activist and a performance artist, it is not immediately clear if the announcement on his blog is a literal fact, or a statement about campaign finances. Though, Talen’s campaign blog says that he has won $100 million dollars in the lottery, so, now…”‘No-one has ever seen an ad saturation campaign like this!’ enthused the Vote Rev Billy campaign manager Danny Valdes. Thousands of new hires are fanning out across the city giving away customized ‘Billy Blackberries’ with Talen ads on their screens. Sky-writing, Mitzvah tank-like street sounds, backseat cab ads, singing waiters, billboard trucks – the Reverend will be everywhere until the polls close.”
