won’t be out until next spring, at which time I expect that yes, it will have to stand comparison to Wayne’s.

Looks like the book may turn into a “late bloomer” after languishing for awhile. It’s in the top 500 overall (415 at this moment).

Sigh. Another missed opportunity. If it wasn’t such an embarrassingly bad book, this would be something to jump around about.

Gene Trosper, I think the situation is so polarized that Root wouldn’t get far even if he tried to reach out to left libertarians. & Barr’s nomination showed that wasn’t necessary, but close.

@4 Certainly appealing to public figures will go a long way toward securing the nomination, but if Wayne can start successfully reaching out to left-Libertarians, I think his nomination is assured.

Of course, Judge Napolitano’s initial impressions of someone, particularly in the political sphere, should be taken with a grain of salt. Like Wayne Allyn Root, he enthusiastically supported George W. Bush in 2000, contributing $1,000 — then the maximum allowed under federal law — to Bush’s presidential campaign and donating an additional $5,000 to the Republican National Committee. Seven years later, the Fox News judicial analyst could be found denouncing the bumbling Texas governor he eagerly helped to put in the White House, accusing President Bush of demonstrating “less fidelity to the Constitution than any president since Abraham Lincoln.”

Either Napolitano acted hastily in 2000, or his political instincts aren’t to be trusted.

At this rate, Wayne will most likely get the LP nomination for president in 2012 if he can appeal to popular figures.

I am not sure how I feel about this. I have read Judge Napolitano’s books and watched him on Fox News and Fox Business. I like the fact that he appears with Ron Paul a great deal. Root seems to me a white belt and white shoes used car salesman who is just so full of himself that it is tough to judge what his real beliefs might be. I just can’t warm up to the guy. His sleaze factor is enormous. As much as I respect Andrew Napolitano I think I will take a pass on this recommendation. I doubt the Founders are smiling on this clown!
