There can be a big tent – a winning coalition – whose “leaders” stand firmly on principle and, even if they “offend” a segment, it need not be fatal. For example: many Pro-Lifers voted for Obama … many Pro-Deathers went for Reagan, yet they still had a home under the Big GOP Tent. The GOP won because they stuck to principle; however, if Ronald Reagan were a compromiser, it’d taken the wind out of their sails … as it did with McCain. That’s a loser.

Even when people disagree with you, they respect the “true believers”, BECAUSE they are consistent … thus predictable and, frankly, admirable for having the cajones to hang tough.

Moreover, The People are strongly allergic to the invertebrate babbling class in Washington. The firm & fearless voice of defiant men of principle would be refreshing, even to many libs.

I don’t understand this last comment of yours. All I am doing is agreeing with you that true, pure anarchists should not associate with the fatally compromised Libertarian Party, and that impure libertarians belong in the GOP instead.

The Libertarian Party also went downhill noticeably when it sold out by nominating pro-war, anti-anarchist John Hospers for president in 1972.

The more the LP has embraced conservatives, the smaller the party has gotten. This is simply a fact, not an opinion. Count the numbers. The reason being is that actual libertarians leave in frustration because the LP no longer represents their ideas.

Don’t any LP members wonder why there is so little representation in the LP of people affiliated with other libertarian organizations? Most of the other libertarian organizations rarely mention the LP and when they do, it isn’t always nice.

Real libertarians do not allow our party to be polluted by allowing politically incorrect topics such as these to be discussed. We think any libertarian who holds politically incorrect views on these issues should be diagnosed as a lunatic and treated in a psychiatric institution, just as our left wing comrades in the USSR did.

Mr. Savage is total outside the American mainstream, and approaches falling off the right wing of the world. Associating Libertarianism with Mr Savage does great damage to our party.
