North Dakota’s Grand Forks Herald reports Winona LaDuke, the 2000 Green Party vice presidential nominee, spoke at the University of North Dakota on Wednesday as part of a panel on the purpose and future of higher education. LaDuke, who “now works at the White Earth Ojibwe reservation in Minnesota,” criticized universities “for their lack of truly multicultural education. If there is multiculturalism, she said, ‘What you have is a Eurocentric education with interesting spices.’” Ralph Nader and LaDuke received 2,882,955 votes in 2000.
