<blockquote>I hope you took my comment about posting Green articles with a sense of humor and grain of salt. And, I did notice that you skip some articles…</blockquote>

LOL, yes, of course. And I don't actually mean to skip them, I try to get to them later (hoping someone else does first).

Paulie: I hope you took my comment about posting Green articles with a sense of humor and grain of salt. And, I did notice that you skip some articles...

To all: I am finished with this conversation here for a variety of reasons.

Humble Travis - sorry I left a thread unanswered. You may e-mail me if you like votewilder at yahoo dot com. But, please note that I cannot answer for the Green Party. I have green values, but am not enrolled as a green, and I have no green party official positions.

Thanks,
Kimberly Wilder

Deb Gordils:

Will look over your paragraph more in the future. But, for now:

You asked where males choice is in an abortion.

The choice is this: Don't have sex with a woman, if you don't trust her to make the right decisions for you and your family.

In addition...the male's choice is this: have such a good relationship with the women you are with, that if she has concerns about having your child, or cannot afford to have your child, she knows she can come to you, and she knows the two of you can overcome obstacles together.

I am not a fan of abortion, either. But, if any government officer, or medical professional came near my body to do a procedure I did not want done on my body, or to prevent any procedure I wanted done, they would be very sorry.

And, I try to keep that passion and self-empowerment activated enough to proactively prevent that oppression against myself and my sisters.

I an shocked by Conservatives and Libertarians who do not get this. If the government is bad and cannot be trusted, than don't entrust them with the sacred decision of life and death. And, if you can't trust and believe that the government will do healthcare correctly, or school correctly, than whether or not you like abortion, don't give the power to the greedy, incompetent, interfering government to be the enforcer on the matter of abortion.

Or, is government only smarter than women?

I do have a question for any Greens who may be reading this article. The Green Party platform states that "reproductive rights" are "non-negotiable". However I have known some Greens who are pro-Israel or pro-gun, which is at odds with many within the GP.

The question is whether the abortion issue trumps all others for Greens? Are pro-life voters are welcome in the GP or are they turned away as a rule?

As a woman, I find the view that the government should interfere in choices about my body oppressive. So, I disliked how the article looked lightly on that position of Ms. Gordils which is against the Green Party platform (and, heck, against me!)

The government does not interfere with choices women make about there bodies. We are free to get tummy tucks, shave our legs, wax our whole bodies if need be, get tatoos, breast implants, breast reductions, botox, face lifts, piercings anywhere and everywhere, get fat, get skinny, have sex, shave your head, color your hair pink ,....When woman are done with these choices they are all left with the consequences...NOT AN AREA FOR CHOICE..... Don't like the haircut, the hair color, hair length too bad, you chose not to leave it alone. Don't like the nose job, unlikely the result is an easy fix. so is it with the choice to have intercourse, get pregnant...well that happens when you choose to have sex.The outcome is not your choice..So lets PLEASE not compare these body choices to procreation which whether implanted or natural involves a mans contribution this is a completely different variable from all the other choices we as woman are free to make and always will be free to have. This single variable is not up for debate. Where are the males rights in this picture. CHOICE IS AN OUTDATED WORD that needs to be changed to better reflect today's women. Women who have all the freedoms and choices that woman of yesterday did not. When I was a little girl, girls were not allowed to wear pants to Chicago Public schools. I was also one of the best athletes in the neighborhood but because I was a girl, I was not allowed to join little league or was told I could not play because I was a girl. My freshman year 1975, I stood with other high school girls in protest, we went bra less and boycotted any clerical classes that cattled us into secretarial jobs instead of management positions. I lived during these struggles. The sexual revolution was about choosing to have sex it was not about choosing the consequence to that choice. Look everytime we put the word Choice along with women up for a vote its like saying they can be taken away from us. Stop insulting today's woman Abortion must stand alone as the subject for scrutiny. Today's woman needs to be supported on new ignored detrimental issues like equal pay for equal work, we don't have fair labor laws, we don't have adequate health insurance offers, the cost of day care kills our work opportunities and eats most of our pay, we are still on the losing end of child support and domestic violence. So if you want to spend the next 25 years talking about an empty , outdated word like choice when it comes to women then go ahead, but you are beating a dead horse . BUT FOR ME , I don't care what a woman wheres or what she looks like, I care about how she feels and how she is treated, and that she gets the same opportunities that men have and NONE OF THAT IS ABOUT HER BODY.

This candidate seems to be somewhat confused-at best. Paulie, I think Kimberly was lamenting that this article was posted at all. Not that you/IPR post too many GPW articles. The real news here is the candidate's switch from GP to GOP and maybe how she was a GP in the first place.

<i>Paulie, my friend, do you have to post every Green Party story here????</i>

No, if you have some you want to post, there are quite a few on GPW that I haven't got to yet.

For example

Paulie, my friend, do you have to post every Green Party story here????

;)

I thought this story was a disappointment.

No need for greens to waste any breath on a pro-life Republican.

And, for someone to pretend to be a green one election season, and switch to a pro-life Republican the next campaign that is bogus!

Arrrrgh! Wish this wasn't posted at Green Party Watch. And, wish it hadn't been carried over here. No need to waste third party energy on duopoly candidates. They have their own resources and support networks.

Just my humble opinion...

During her run for congress, she was asked about her views on the war in Iraq. This is what she said:

"<i>This is complex. Iraq must receive all the assistance that it needs to stabilize and prosper. I do not support war and will stay out of one at all costs but I believe in Democracy and humanitarian rights and condemn all countries that do not see the value of its people. I would need to be briefed on the Iraq Issue that has not yet been made available to the average American to be better apt to comment on Iraq's situation with America and how we should proceed.I do not think a complete with drawl of soldiers is fair to the Iraqi people.</i>"

During her run for congress, she was asked about her views on the war in Iraq. This is what she said:

“This is complex. Iraq must receive all the assistance that it needs to stabilize and prosper. I do not support war and will stay out of one at all costs but I believe in Democracy and humanitarian rights and condemn all countries that do not see the value of its people. I would need to be briefed on the Iraq Issue that has not yet been made available to the average American to be better apt to comment on Iraq’s situation with America and how we should proceed.I do not think a complete with drawl of soldiers is fair to the Iraqi people.”

CT and I are personal friends, because of our very different, yet both highly unusual beliefs. He got me to start lurking on IPR last year so I have been following everything that is going on here. I also know detailed information about his special missions for the Vatican. Since he has recently taken his hiatus from IPR to go on an especially long mission, I thought it was time to share my own beliefs with the world.

She probably feels comfortable in the Republicans because of her pro-life stance. So will she join the Ron Paul wing, being an anti-war candidate? But what about economic issues? Republicans won't be pleased. Catholic Trotskyist supported her, I remember that, but I am sure he will understand.
