Boston Herald covers Joe Kennedy Senate campaign

September 27th, 2009 · 5 Comments

This morning’s Boston Herald has a short item on Massachusetts Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Joe Kennedy under the headline “New Hopeful For Ted Kennedy’s Seat Has Right Name For Job”. The Herald writes, “Joseph L. Kennedy, 37, of Dedham, a member of the national Libertarian Party collecting signatures to run as an independent, has established a Web site: JoeKennedyforSenate.com. He is not to be confused with Joseph P. Kennedy II, 57, whose decision not to run for his late uncle Edward M. Kennedy’s Senate seat left the famous family’s faithful wistful.”

Kennedy “sees himself as the choice for voters fed up with wealthy Democrats and Republicans fighting with each other, while ignoring the common folk who put them in power. ‘Unless you are a person who is being negatively affected by what’s going on in society, you don’t have a full grasp of the issues,’ he said.”

I would find it funny if some people got him confused with the other Joe Kennedy and help him get a large percentage.

Thanks, Paulie. I think the LP over there ought to approach the GOP, not wait for the GOP “brains” to think of it.

I know Phillies will probably see these comments as he reads IPR regularly, but I also plan on giving him a call about that as well. I’m in Mass myself right now to work on some signature gathering and would like to add Kennedy to my stack if we can get it funded.
