The Open Progressive Party of Minnesota is running a city council candidate in Minneapolis – and he just happens to be Michael Cavlan, a frequent commenter at IPR. According to Cavlan, he is qualified for the ballot and the party is in the first stages of associating with a national organization.

Mahoning Valley Greens hold “unofficial” Labor Day Parade

Youngstown, Ohio, once one of the great steel towns in America, no longer holds a Labor Day Parade.
On Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2009, the Mahoning Valley Greens held an unofficial parade by walking down the sidewalks and holding a brief ceremony and salute at one of the old entrances to the Steel Mills on the Center Street Bridge.
