America’s Independent Party of Tennessee chairman organizes protest

Nashville Scene reports Tom Kovach, chairman of America’s Independent Party of Tennessee, is organizing a demonstration outside a Nashville middle school for Friday morning. It was originally intended to protest an appearance by Rep. Jim Cooper, but Cooper has cancelled. Kovach says the protest will take place anyway.

Federal Court Upholds South Carolina’s Method of Restricting Fusion

US District Court Judge Cameron Currie upheld a South Carolina election law which, while permitting fusion, also says that if someone gets the nomination of one party first, and later tries to get the nomination of a second party and fails, then the first nomination is voided. The plaintiff-candidate is Eugene Platt of the Green Party.

Reverend Billy Talen for Mayor campaign gives numbers: 12,000 signatures
