The point is not that we need Bill Maher to be the judge of which party will lead America to the promised land. The point is that he’s a celebrity with a TV show, he’s fed up with the Republicrats, and we should all reach out to him to have Greens, Libertarians, and who all else on his show. Anyone up for some real debate?

I’m with Maher on this; the US needs an independent progressive party, and the GP in the US is not it. On the national level it is a dead issue, there are several viable and active locals and some state parties, but nationally the party is in rigor already.

Ha. I always find it comical when I come across an opinion piece or random comment where someone comes to the realization that the two-party system is corrupt, and concludes that ‘someone’ should organize an alternative party.
