Press release from 2008 Libertarian Party Vice Presidential candidate Wayne Root, who is seeking the LP’s 2012 presidential nomination:
Libertarian 2008 Vice Presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root appeared on “Cavuto” with host Neil Cavuto on FOX Business Network on Monday afternoon. That was the first of 4 FOX appearances this week for Root. He will be in New York on Wednesday live in-studio with Judge Andrew Napolitano on Freedom Watch at 2 PM EST; then live in-studio on The Glenn Beck Program at 5 PM EST on Wednesday. Then Thursday Root will appear live in studio with Neil Cavuto on “Your World.”
Saturday Root will also host his Saturday radio show, “W.A.R: The Wayne Allyn Root Show” from Salem Radio’s Manhattan studios. His guests this week will include nationally-known political strategist and author of 6 New York Times Best-sellers Dick Morris and one of America’s greatest direct marketing gurus and author of 6 books, Joe Sugarman, the man who literally invented the idea of taking credit card orders on toll free numbers.
Root’s show is broadcast in New York (on 970 The Apple), Los Angeles (on KABC) and Chicago (on WIND). It is also streamed at: ROOTforAmerica.com
In the past 3 weeks Wayne’s radio guests have included former Republican Presidential candidate and U.S. Congressman Ron Paul; FOX News host and judicial expert Judge Andrew Napolitano; former Congressman and MSNBC host Joe Scarborough; 3-time NY Times #1 best-selling author Robert Ringer; economist and FOX News regular Peter Schiff; economist and founder of FreedomFest and author of 25 books Mark Skousen; economist Kip Herraige, the Founder/CEO of Wealth Masters International; and rare coin and gold expert Steve Contursi, Founder/CEO of Rare Coin Wholesalers.
Once he returns from New York, Root heads to Dallas to address the largest Tea Party events in the country on July 4th in Austin and Dallas. Root will be the only speaker to address both events, as well as a Libertarian Party gathering in Dallas on July 3rd. The July 4th Dallas event, called “America’s Tea Party” is expecting 50,000 attendees at Southfork (J.R.’s Ranch from the TV series “Dallas”)- the largest gathering of its kind ever. Root will be speaking along with Michelle Malkin and hero jet pilot Scott O’Grady.

??????????? ?????? ?????? ?????? ??????????? ???????????? ? ?????? ????? ????? ??????????? ?????? ??????? ??????????? ? ?????? ??????????? ?????? ??????
As I mentioned, it’s not just aimed at you. I’m trying to light a fire under someone’s ass – possibly, but not necessarily, yours.
Paulie,
Heard you the first 547 times.
The only point I’d argue with you is the state convention thing.
Of course Root is attending a lot of state conventions. As the 2008 VP nominee he’s more likely to be a draw, more likely to be invited, and more likely to have his costs covered not as a campaign expense, but by state parties which believe he’ll bring in the crowds. And he has a book to promote.
Assuming that I decide to continue my campaign, I’ll be attending state conventions. I’ve attended one this year, intend to be at another, and may add more. In 2010 (when I also expect to have a book to promote), 2011 and 2012, I’ll increase the numbers of events I attend.
If you want to be reassured that I can attend state conventions, no problem. I seem to recall that I attended 11 of them in 2004, when I wasn’t even a candidate for anything (I represented a candidate at a couple, and assisted another candidate at the others).
Can I compete with Root? I guess we’ll see. The bottom line for me is that so far, even NOTA would be a far better choice than Root, and I consider getting that point across to be more important than promoting my own prospects.
Tom: I have no idea of how your revenue stream compares to Root’s.
All I can judge is the results in terms I can see- IE, Root travels around to numerous state conventions; you do not.
Even more importantly, IMO: Root does a good deal of national broadcast media. You do not (at least yet).
As I have told you many times: I think your ideology is a lot closer to mine that Root’s is.
But, it won’t matter. Unless you start doing the things Wayne is doing in terms of media, conventions etc, you won’t be competitive. But, if you did make an effort to get media, I think you could do well.
I’m not saying it has to be you. If we can’t get you to do it, I hope we can recruit someone from “our” side of the intraparty ideological divide to go up against Wayne on those fields of competition. Lately, I’ve suggested Ernie Hancock, and people seem to like the idea, although I don’t know if Ernie would do it.
I hope that other folks CCed like this idea and find someone both capable and willing to do it.
BTW on the flipside: if your sole interest is in stopping Root, I don’t think you will succeed in stopping him UNLESS we succeed in getting a radical libertarian “leader(s)” willing and able to get the level of media and conventiongoing that Root is doing.
Nor do I think it will be enough to find one close to 2012; Root is also running for LNC Chair in 2010, recruiting new LP members whose views are like his which will contribute over time to driving more radical and left-libertarian members out,
The sooner we can roll out an alternative, the better our chances.
If not you, who? And how to convince to agree?
PS – also trying to recruit Loretta Nall to run also. Preferably after we elect her to state legislature in 2010.
CarbonCopyPro, Wealth Masters International
Interesting you should bring those up.
Root’s been involved with Wealth Masters International for some time. Now he’s involved with CarbonCopyPro.
CarbonCopyPro is a “funnel” scheme for Wealth Masters International. It works like this:
– The cost of buying into WMI starts at $795.
– You can get into CarbonCopyPro for “only” $49.
– What you get for being in Carbon Copy Pro is … the chance to join WMI.
– What the guy who gets you into CarbonCopyPro gets is a $30 commission on that $49 “application fee,” and a shot at getting someone who wouldn’t have paid $795 on an up-front pitch to throw good money after bad.
It’s sort of like if you were a sports handicapper and advertised free or cheap picks so that you could get people on the horn and try to hector them into joining an expensive picks club. Yes, I’m certain I remember a guy who used to be in that business.
The main difference, I think, is that the customer probably had a better chance of coming out ahead on the football picks than he does on CCP/WMI.
I’ll have you know: That kind of unamerican cut and run attitude is why we lost Laos to the Reds, mister.
I’m afraid not.

Leymann Feldenstein, agreed,
“His guests this week will include nationally-known political strategist and author of 6 New York Times Best-sellers Dick Morris and one of America’s greatest direct marketing gurus and author of 6 books”
Dick Morris??!! Is this some kind of sick joke? The same Machiavellian who saved Clinton’s presidency and then had to resign in disgrace when he got caught with his pants down (literally). The same triangular centrist turned neocon when it suited his financial interests. The poster boy for Fox News and Newsmax rightwingers.
I’d say W.A.R. and Dick Morris are two peas in the same pod. If the LP wants to embrace their kind for political expediency so be it. If the LP wants to hitch their wagon to neocon rightwingers like Bob Barr and W.A.R. because they think it will get them one-percent of the vote instead of one-half of one percent that’s fine with me.
I finished with the LP some years ago and stuff like this makes me glad I did.
Personally, I don’t want to know anything about Milnes sex life! It’s just too much information.
PEACE
I’d just like to comment on how highly entertaining this thread has been, mostly thanks to Robert Milnes.
Your elders might surprise you & know a little more about life than you think they do.
mdh, have’t you been following? I’m not the one who started the whole paulie hobo thing. That was quoted from Angela Keaton. & I had a union job before you were born. The issue is Social Security disability. I was put on 100% disability. I think the limit is 90 hours a MONTH of work a disabled person can do before incurring a “penalty”-reduction in benefits. However I think if I did ANY paid work I could LOSE ALL SSI due to 100%. So I am reluctant to even rock that boat. So the further issue is depression. How disabling? How permanent? etc. So, please try to not patronize your elders, ok?
Steven: thanks for the info. Yes, one feels sorry for Gary actually.
A Mike Munger-Karen Kwiatkowski ticket may be interesting? (Perhaps better than Ernie Hancock, who is more an activist etc. and is doing really good work and not a politician). Munger being a porfessor in political theory and having fared quite well in NC last year (also better than Barr-Root in the state) seems dynamic and very well versed and articulate. The LP needs somone that has made his/her mark already. A congressman or senator from one of the big parties in highly unlikely and a celebrity also not really ideal. Munger probably has academic contacts as well and can run a professional campaign. Prof. Jeffrey Miron from harvard can also do good research and has appeared on TV a few times, not that I think he should be a candidate (btter for him to stay in his important job/career and mission).
I’ve had short outages before too.
CT, when it happens does your pointer read javascript ID blocked, true ? When pointed at Further Informaton on IE8?
Robert, regarding short outages of IPR, that happens to me too sometimes. Probably an issue with WordPress.
Well, Pent.4 computer still isn’t working at home. I wonder why it worked in the computer store bench test. I saw it. It has a sideways small & broken up image at home. Anybody have an idea?
Ok Something strange just happened. I couldn’t access IPR. Message said javascript IDBlocked. After a while I tried again. I could get on. It was like somebody blocked me then somebody unblocked.
Steven R. Linnabary, does the DVD cover the story of the mortgage to finance campaign & whether he lost his house or not?
My electric did not get shut off. I negotiated with Public Service. That just put off the inevitible unless I get a bigger solar panel. I have a pair of “maintenence” panels. & I have a 2000 watt inverter & several batteries.
Rachel H. @128. If anyone sent email to [email protected] it got lost in a sea of spam. I couldn’t afford the anti-spam program. My email is: [email protected] which you can use to send a donation from paypal>paypal. Until I can get my domain name website with paypal button back up.
Well, I did wake up with a boner. But I decided to not aim it a Susan. Rather I ventured out into the world to try to attend some errands. I did manage to get my Pent.4 repaired. I haven’t set it up yet. I had to carry it home. No gas money.
He’s back! …….Yaaaaaaaaaay!
Catholic Trotskyist, If Milnes was banned it is news to me!
Stefan @ 123:
I doubt that Gary Nolan’s significant other would approve of him taking ANOTHER year off from work to possibly lose the nomination…again!
If you want to see a good movie about a third party Presidential race, buy the DVD “Nolan’s Run”. While the documentary is about the Libertarian race in 2004, Greens and others will find it interesting as well.
PEACE
Stefan, the problem with your idea is that I’m not old enough yet. But I’ll try to find a replacement for me, and I will be the campaign manager and special advisor.
Stefan, yes, great idea.
So was Milnes banned? Or did he decide to stop? Or did his electric go off like he said it would?
Root has promised to run for president until he wins, however may times it takes.
if anyone knows any reason why he shouldnt be a speaker and/or friend to the LPNevada , speak up.
You indicated that he suggested that candidates (Republican candidates, I presume) try to convince Libs to not run. That’s reason enough, I should think.
Besides, why give that sort of business to a Republican activist when you could give it to a Libertarian activist?
Take what you learned from him, do some reading and other study, and give the classes yourself.
Wayne probably wont run for office in Nevada according to people who know him best:)
thats a big disappointment but completely understandable given a 2012 Pres bid .
however , after the pres bid , if he decides not to run in 2016 , his notoriety will be high and perfect for a bid of some sort in NV.
Off Topic…
I went to candidate training with Chuck Muth last night , the info was great and the class was $20( cant beat that) and we Libs had a good time.
The only thing that bothered me , and made me silently giggle was when he said ” hey if you go to the LIbs and pay them attention , you can get them to maybe not run in your race”
LOL , not gonna happen w/o some reciprocal benefit like money or not running in one of ours.
anyways we were thinking about having him come speak at one of our meetings and BAM! , the controversy begins.
The rumor mill said he tried to prevent WAR from speaking at FFest last year and that he has an “unholy alliance ” with Shane Cory. they say he is no friend of the LP .
honestly though , i quite liked him , and he did pay the LP homage several times during his presentation.
if anyone knows any reason why he shouldnt be a speaker and/or friend to the LPNevada , speak up.
CT: You are here to make the LP related blogs look kooky, just like Bob. How about
Blagojevich- Catholic Trotskyist 2012 ?
Blago can get the older vote and especially the corporate finance needed to raise enough (by offering the donors like Goldman Sachs etc. some great favors if elected, he has a proven track record to stand on) and he can go after Obama, and you can bring the youth vote from obama plus everybody, from conservative Catholics, to liberal Protestants, moderates, independents, Greens all the way till the Communists, a true representative of the new America! What do you think, an unstoppable combination. Face it, all the other third party candidates are going to suffer, unless they have a few billionaires on board. You may hold onto your Obama by appointing him secretary of state or ambassador to the UN, or to Kenia or Indonesia. Sounds like a good idea?
HOW ABOUT some of the people that are libertarians run for office like Congress and the Senate. We need to spread out here.
Paulie to be a hobo? Paulie has a paying job, dude.
You can get one, too. It’s not hard. You can make $7 – $8 an hour at any grocery store, fast food joint, whoever will hire you, and pay your bills. Seriously.
My advice: try to find a union gig with a good union. UFCW has been pretty good for me.
re: the much earlier discussion about Milnes not having the cash to campaign –
He didn’t even answer eMail from convention chairs. If he had, he’d have gotten some mention or a statement read in WA. Did it for the Constitution Party girl (isn’t that where she went?)
Independent Lurker, no Milnes and I are not the same person. I am, however, a big fan. But on the other hand, even I am beginning to agree with the rest that this begging for funds needs to stop. Especially the personal insults against Susan are no good.
Sanford-Blagojevich 2012
Candidate of non-hobos with an insane alternate personality.
Robert: let me translate in more direct words what Susan is trying to say diplomatically: you are starting to piss the rest of us off. Discuss ideas and politics, not your personal life and donations. Hey, this site is no paypal account…
Bob: maybe will be more successful if you organize all your thoughts in a few longer posts than bombarding us all with many one-liners….
you seemed hooked against the GOP, and not against the ruling one party as well, and does not seem to aim at the disillusioned GOP party followers by playing the man instead of the ball.
Not exactly a wise politicla strategy. If you want to portray yourself as a centrist, you have no chance of winning if you cannot win a significant amount of votes from those that supported the GOP in the past. Teddy Roosevelt is your ideal president, funny McCain said the same thing….
does this mean you would also be in favor of bailouts, for instance?
Well, it is getting late. I’ll resume in the morning. Susan be advised I usually wake up with a boner.
As alternative to Knapp and Ernie Hancock, what about a Gary Nolan/Karen Kwiatkowski ticket for the LP? This sounds very interesting to me. Nolan has already experience with campaigning (major parties often select candidates that did not win the primary with a previous cycle, like Goldwater in 1960 and Reagan in 1976 for example) and he is a radio host since a long time already. Kwiatkowski also has her own radio show and she is well versed in many matters, is a woman as well, and so experience in military intelligence and served in the Army and govt. and a commited LP who also understand economics. Otherwise the LP candidate for gov. in NC also sounds interesting. he has campaign experience, is a professor, thus name recognition and intelligence, perhaps with John Monds as VP? All possibilities…
Of course, if the GOP wisen up, they would know that they can only really win with a Paul-Johnson ticket in 2012 IMHO, and then the LP does not have to worry too much about presidential candidates and the race.
I heard again Root mentioned the possibility of running against Harry Reid for the senate seat in 2010. He will run as a Republican is he to have any chance, i think, so that would automatically mean the end of Root for president on the LP ticket in 2012, regardless whether he wins the GOP primary (and against Reid) as well. This media blast is perhaps to sharpen his “appeal as senate candidate. His remark about the Ensign story could also be seen in this light.
The toxic situation my friend in AZ is in is living with his mother. Evidently she is a lot like Susan.
All visitors to my camp must obey USFS rules & regs. No changing your oil in the National Forest please! I’m serious. Once I found a coffee can filled near the top with used motor oil! Right near the creek bank! I couldn’t believe it. I wanted to dispose of it, but how? I didn’t have a plastic lid to fit. Probably had a dozen at home. If I carried it back to camp I might spill some. So I left it & when I got back I got on my Starband & emailed the USFS about it. If anybody got into trouble over that, that’s their fault.
Susan is what we call a strict disciplinarian libertarian.
Susan, you sound like my sister. She doesn’t talk to me anymore. What a relief!
That is a burger and fries OR a sixer.
Yes, Trent. You are enabling me & paulie to be hobos.
Wayne, Susan is kicking me out of your thread. Are you going to put up with that?
Hey, I’m just filling the vacuum here left by Wayne.
Susan, be my vp so I can summon you to the White House every day & order you around.
Panhandling! I’ll have you know this is political fundraising. & it is not working very well. If I was panhandling,I’d have gotten enough for a burger & fries & a sixer by now.
oh, no, Susan Hogarth! No more party, people.
Independent lurker, no. unless I am blacking out & assuming another identity, like Dr. Jekyl, CT is not me. I for example would not say Sanford-Milnes. I would say bring on the hos & to hell with the republicans!
Bob,
Your panhandling is not appropriate behavior here, in my opinion. Kimberly asked you kindly to tone down the number of off-topic comments you were flooding the board with. I aspire to be someday as patient and tactful as Kimberly, but that day isn’t today.
Trent, can we shut Milnes down if he continues to flood the comments with his begging for personal funds? I don’t see why we should facilitate such behavior. It’s no good for the site, and frankly I don’t think it’s much good for Bob, either.
This has gone way beyond performance art and into the merely pathetic.
mdh, that sounds like they used paypal. & relied on volunteers to do the rest-computer assisted of course. Is that what you mean? Is that what they did?
I’m becoming pretty convinced that Catholic Trotskyist is the same person as Robert Milnes. There personalities are a little different, but they have a similar insane rambling style.
I’m using my spare computer. Dell Pent3 xp. Slow! & I haven’t been able to get the email to work.
Is there any chance my friend can hook up with Steve? He needs to get out of the toxic situation he’s in too. In AZ. Once in CA he will feel better I’m sure. Can you ask him? We actually went to Clear Lake intending to move there. I liked it there.
paypal still 5.67. I talked Electric company into 1/2. My DishTV is shut off. Next is ATT internet. If Vonage bill goes unpaid or electric shut off or internet, voip won’t work either. Do you have any ideas how I can get to CA & start sucking gravel?
July 23-26.
Bob,
You keep saying “mostly a computer program” as if computer programs wrote and maintained themselves.
They don’t. People with particular skill sets have to be paid to write those programs. When those programs break — and they do — people have to be paid to fix them. When the rules change — and they do — people have to be hired to update the programs.
Additionally, people have to be paid to sit there and answer the customers’ questions, guide them through the programs if they don’t understand, etc.
Finally, there’s non-human-resources overhead. The programs have to have computers to run on. They have to have bandwidth to communicate with the customers at one end and the credit card companies and banks at the other. They have to have a building to sit in, and they have to have electricity to run.
Gee, Tom, you almost have me feeling sorry for the cute little dinosaur.
Tom, the Green Party Annual National Convention. If you & me & Richard Winger & KK show up & speak it would be one for the books!
paulie, yes, but all contributors have to fill out the fec form & from there it is mostly a computer program.
Bob,
Regarding @49/@74 — didn’t know you were talking to me, have no idea what’s happening in Durham or when, have no plans to visit Durham in the immediate future.
You write:
“mgh, my question boils down to who is making money off of the collection & processing of the money? A’real merchant account’ doesn’t tell me who owns it or who profits from it. Let’s face it, 2 million gross over a period of perhaps one year for a gig that the computers pretty much do is a pretty lucrative temp job.”
The computers cost money. It costs money to hire programmers to write the code. The bandwidth costs money. The advertising to attract the customers costs money. Providing tech support costs money. There may also be upline/downline transaction costs (wire fees, card company fees, etc.).
Transaction processing isn’t a “temp job” because it can’t be. It’s capital intensive both to set up and to operate, and the x% the processor charges is nothing close to pure profit.
35m x.02 = 700k, but of course not all the 35m was by credit card, much was by checks and some cash
I’ve been thinking about the loan of $5000 includes camp privileges. That doesn’t seem fair should someone donate rather than lend. So I came up with some numbers. Lend 5000 is roughly equivelent to donating 1000, in my opinion. So anyone who donates 1000 also gets camp privileges. This is all assuming it does not violate USFS rules & regs & the visitors conform to all rules & regs.
Tom, you still haven’t answered question #49 & @74.
mgh, my question boils down to who is making money off of the collection & processing of the money? A”real merchant account” doesn’t tell me who owns it or who profits from it. Let’s face it, 2 million gross over a period of perhaps one year for a gig that the computers pretty much do is a pretty lucrative temp job.
The Ron Paul campaign had a real merchant account. The LPWV doesn’t do enough business to justify a real merchant account yet. With a real merchant account, you do your own transactions and the fees come out to 2% – 3%.
But if Milnes is unavailable, Rod Blagojevich could take his place. A real unity ticket.
Thanks Paulie. Tom is wrong, of course, the chief executive does have more responsibilities than the average person, and does need to be on call at all times. Sanford was an Episcopalian, but he could still be a fellow traveler of Catholic Trotskyism if he could admit that he was wrong not only with his affair, but his entire ideology.
Milnes-Sanford 2012, Real solutions for real sinners.
CT
I think Knapp covers that one well
http://knappster.blogspot.com/2009/06/where-was-sanford.html
Where’s Trent? I would like to hear his comments about the fall of Mark Sanford, who was mentioned many times at IPR. The only chance for Sanford to rehabilitate his career is to adopt either the Milnes Progressive Alliance strategy or the Catholic Trotskyist fringe alliance strategy.
Milnes-Sanford 2012.
I’m assuming Ron Paul had a republican outfit do the contributions. Does anybody know off hand?
paulie, is Donor Town Square a movement organization/company? & why doesn’t somebody talk Brad into it? If I do well, he’d hit the lottery.
Isn’t there some alternative?
So why should I go along with Aristotle or paypal or some republican outfit?
Aristotle rings a bell. & yes, the whole 9-fec info & thank you letter etc. But most of that is automatic programming as info is input by the donor. Ok, 5-7%. That’s still a nice head of foam skimmed right off the top. & still a cool more or less 2 mil. from the RP/RP campaign.
Donor Town Square which LPWV and Freedom Ballot Access use is 5%. LPA uses something else which I don’t remember the name of – 3% plus flat fee IIRC.
10% for fundraisers is actually really good. If you can find me competent fundraisers for ballot access projects at that rate, I’d love to know…
Bob,
Actually, 10% is rather high. I’m not sure when or why I might have told you otherwise.
PayPal charges 2.9% plus 30 cents, with no minimums. I think Aristotle / CampaignContribution.Com tops out at more like 5-7%, but they also do more than just process the transactions — they collect the relevant information for FEC reporting and transmit it to you in the format for that reporting, they handle an automated “thank you” letter, etc.
I think what I may have told you is that 10% or more is “quite reasonable and the usual” for fundraising, which is a different matter than transaction processing.
paulie, right. & that does sound like Wonder Woman, I mean Karen Kwiatkowski.
mdh, Tom assured me that is quite reasonable & the usual. That’s right, somebody got 3.5 million from the Ron Paul campaign just for processing the contributions.
Robert Milnes only has a certain amount of time he can devote to saving this planet. After all it is just one out of many where he does his important work.
Milnes can only help those planets that are willing to help themselves by supplying him with a female running mate, preferably a southerner, well-proportioned and available, constitutionally qualified for the office and ready to serve the ticket in whatever ways required of her.
I think a Root/Kubby or Root/Knaap Ticket in 2012 would make almost everyone happy in the LP.
Unless someone on our side of the party steps it up mediawise, that will probably be the best we can realistically hope for.
I think a Wayne Root-Ernie Hancock showdown would be interesting.
10% is insane. Anyone who’d pay 10% for a processor is insane. Robert Milnes is… oh, right. 🙂
& perhaps one-or THE reason for no contributions-I never activated the button. I never filed FEC documents.
John C, yes, I would appreciate any such assistance. One point I’d like to make. The campaign site Tom is referring to includes a 10% fee for contributions collection & processing. Well in my case so far it has been academic-no contributions! (& I use the word contributions to apply to political; donations to personal. I have 2 separate websites for that reason). Now, if I were ever to get into the millions in contributions, that could represent quite a chunk of change. I’d like to see that go to a movement host/webmaster/administrator. I thought that might be Brad, but he refused for his reasons. But there must be another Brad type person/organization out there.
SD appears to not have a working website either. At least it did not come up just now.
Tom, you didn’t answer my question @49. Are you, me, Richard & Karen going to Durham?
Second. I am considering challenging the President & previous President to a supervised boxing match. Training could be at camp. Any donation for camping & training would be appreciated.
I have 2 more donation ideas. Anyone who would lend me 5 thousand for 1 year + interest I would offer a share in the gold found. Including complete visitation to the campsite priviliges. It would be probably somewhere in the Tahoe National Forest. Including dredging (hooka diving) & panning lessons. Class C season is last Saturday in May-Oct. 15.
WordPress has its own free hosting, too. The only money you would spend would be registering the domain – less than $10/year with some services, and I think .us may still be free – and a one-time $10 fee to point it at a regular wordpress site to get .wordpress. out of the URL. Maybe you can cut out that $10 by having it hosted elsewhere? What are the other advantages, if any?
Last time I checked, DC and RI did not have web
pages either. I did not check back just now. Some other states had sites that apparently had not been updated in years.
@61 – WordPress is tremendously simple to setup and theme. I use it for lpwv.org. If you’d be interested in donating some accounts, I’ve offered to help Richard Ames in North Dakota set up a website. The ND LP is the only state affiliate without a website so if you’re interested in donating an account for hosting to them, let me know. [email protected].
Haha… Milnes. I’d rather have no website at all than have a website that has been shut-down because I didn’t keep up with the payments!
I like Tom Knapp a lot and right now, I’d say he’d get my support. However unlike Barr, Root is actually starting to grow on me a bit. I still say right now, I’d support Knapp, but if Root ended up with the nomination, I won’t be pissed like I was when Barr got it.
lg, U R back! I missed you, you fascist lover, you!
I don’t think Knapp/Root would make Knapp happy either!
Ha, Ha! Just guessing but I don’t think Root/Knapp would make Knapp happy!
Id love that ticket either way
I must emphasize “almost everyone”.
I think a Root/Kubby or Root/Knaap Ticket in 2012 would make almost everyone happy in the LP.
I see. Yeah, I’m not offering any admin. What I have basically..Well, I have a few different hosting plans that I personally use, but I also have a reseller package that allows me to create hosting accounts, setup cpanels, sell packages, give them away, whatever. I currently use only a fraction of the account and have different packages and the ability to make custom packages ( as long as they don’t exceed my total allocated, of course).
I was just thinking, I already pay so much a month whether I use it or not. I could give away a free hosting package without it costing me any. It would have cpanel, ftp access, other features if needed, etc. I could set it up in 2 minutes. Just change the nameservers for the domain, and it’s up. But I don’t design sites or create content for others, etc.
I also probably have access to template hosting packages ( not sure about “campaign” format specifically) that would save a few bucks a month, but no one is going to maintain them for that price.
Unless Bob has big expansion plans that I don’t know about his hosting needs are minimal in terms of bandwidth and storage.
For whatever reason, however, he conflates hosting with web site creation and administration, which is something else entirely. He’s correct that most movement people aren’t especially interested in helping maintain a site.
His current host is expensive ($25 a month), but it’s one of those pre-formatted “campaign web site” places where all he has to do is plug some stuff into a template.
As a “campaign donation,” I built him a second site on freeservers at one point to save him that money.
What hosting do you need? Would you be interested in hosting as a “donation”? i am just asking- I don’t know what requirements you have.
cont, So I finally asked my local computer store owner for hosting. Over the years I have developed a good customer relationship with him. Sam’s Internet Club, Gloucester, NJ 856-456-0040. I bought my Pentium 4 there & he has it now to be repaired. He has a used Dell laptop Centrino xp for sale cheap. My domain name website is: www,robertmilnes.net I think it is about $25/mo. Maybe less. I forget.
John C., I’m glad you asked that question. I have tried to get movement hosting but have failed. Brad Spangler actually refused.
I finally have a website, yet still receive no credibility from Bob Milnes, who refuses to admit that Theodore Roosevelt might be closer to a Catholic Trotskyist than a left progressive libertarian. Third Party, I am against abortion accept in case where the life of the mother is in danger. I am against gay marriage, but I am against discrimination of homosexuals in employment, housing, etc. I have many gay friends, one of whom I even told about my Catholic Trotskyist ideology and he said that he would be a Catholic Trotskyist too if he wasn’t Jewish. Remember, communists were largely against abortion and homosexuality too, which shows how communism and religion go together. On other social issues, I support legalizing drugs, and I am against banning pornography and obscenity; I even oppose the FCC’s current restrictions. Despite my disagreements with commander Obama’s official positions, I support him because of his economic and foreign policy, which will move farther and farther to the left in the next two years, and he is also likely to shock the world by coming out against abortion.
Brian, well if you don’t link to ANYTHING people are less likely to respect you or give you any credibility. So, here is this-well, person, giving Bob Milnes a hard time. But he links to nothing. So, give that person no respect or credibility. On the other hand maybe give Bob Milnes some respect & credibility. Maybe even a donation.
Milnes,
What kind of hosting do you have? How much do you pay?
Hahaha…. Milnes. I have ZERO interest in donating any money to you… EVER! And you’re right, I don’t have a website – Is there any reason that I need to have one?
So CT, where do you stand on social issues like gay rights and abortion?
I will try to find another Catholic Trotskyist to be your running mate, Robert. Catholic Trotskyism is still on the left, and yet has the advantage of picking up some of the religious vote. Remember, Teddy Roosevelt was a religious man. He was a Sunday school teacher and criticized Thomas Paine for being an atheist. I actually think Teddy Roosevelt would have been a supporter of Alan Keyes if he were around today. The Constitution Party with a pro-war bent.
Actually I’m not sure I am in that group. I am trying to organize an Independent run & pick up either or both LP & GP nominations. That is so that if the LP or GP do not nominate my ticket, I still be in the running like Nader & hopefully have as much ballot access as he did in 2008.
Tom, are you, me, Richard & Karen going to Durham?
Tony Jones, there are a few and we have listed them before. Barbara Waymire has announced. Tom Knapp & his nemesis Wayne Allyn Root. Me. I think there are a couple of others.
Tom, agreed. But that still doesn’t clarify what paulie meant.
Bob,
You write:
“Just what does that mean? That Ron Paul sucked the air out of ALL the libertarian campaigns & people held that against them-blaming the victims?”
A person’s money and effort belong to them. If they decided to give that money and effort to Ron Paul, there’s no “victim” involved. They didn’t have any obligation to give it to you instead.
is anyone else seeking the LP’s 2012 presidential nomination
” If your choice was between W.A.R. & Bob Milnes, which? & why?”
Damn. Can’t we have both?
If I had a lot of money, I would go to Africa and get a pet monkey.
If my monkey misbehaves, I would spank it.
I have to admit Tralfamador sounds interesting though.
I certainly have no interest in safaris like Roosevelt. Or flying around the world like Steve Fossett. Or climbing Mt. Everest. Or croc wrestling Down Under.
I actually do not like to travel very much. If I had Perot’s money like I said before I’d probably just go to A.C. with Pussy Galore. Maybe Reno with Mary Jane & Jack Daniels.
No, that was not campaign related. The point is I was not always too broke to travel.
I’m not even good at being a hobo. I don’t go much anywhere anymore.
Brian, you have no website link.
When I was in CA I went all over CA & made almost routine Reno runs. Been to AZ, CO, UT.
Were any of those campaign-related?
I have repeatedly asked Wayne Allyn Root to invite both me and Robert Milnes onto his show, so we can ask for donations for our respective strategies and preach our god-given talents to a radio audience. Root has refused, however, showing he is an enemy of Catholic Trotskyism, which has powered the election of our Holy Revolugionary General Barack H. Obama, and the recent revolutionary attempt in Iran, amen.
Milnes called me a hobo. Pretty ironic.
Brian, you can still donate. As Tom has pointed out paypal>paypal via [email protected]
When I was in CA I went all over CA & made almost routine Reno runs. Been to AZ, CO, UT. So what?`That was then; this is now.
Brian, it is parked due to nonpayment. I’ll get it back up.
“Actually, having worked on the Kubby campaign, I can tell you that was in fact one of the major objections people had.” Just what does that mean? That Ron Paul sucked the air out of ALL the libertarian campaigns & people held that against them-blaming the victims?
Milnes – Looks like me like your high-quality website, http://www.robertmilnes.net, no longer exists…
That is not a quantum difference, paulie. Except having the experienced hobo going around in one’s behalf. As Jay Leno would say, “What is that?” I can’t think of any other examples of that. There certainly is not many. I didn’t make any videos like that weird Gravel thing. However I have several interviews on my website. I think I did fairly well considering my circumstances. Including being dogged by a smart ass know it all detractor.
Oh yeah, NH
Also NY. Not sure if there are any I am forgetting.
Actually, having worked on the Kubby campaign, I can tell you that was in fact one of the major objections people had. Still, Steve was able to raise enough to travel to Washington State, Oregon, Nevada and Colorado, as well as far away parts of California from his home, during the campaign.
We were able to afford floor signs in Denver, and to make some videos. The campaign also had state coordinators in several states, and I travelled to several state conventions (Wisconsin, Kansas/Missouri, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota) on Steve’s behalf.
By contrast, Milnes was able to attend only one state convention.
So, there’s broke, and there’s broke.
“As I recall Kubby had difficulty campaigning due to lack of contributions & his own financial problems. Nobody seemed to hold that against him.”
Yes, because he wasn’t totally insane. He also didn’t post a comment on IPR every 2 minutes…
As I recall Kubby had difficulty campaigning due to lack of contributions & his own financial problems. Nobody seemed to hold that against him.
At greenpartywatch that have posted suggestions for speakers at their Annual National Convention at Durham, NC July 23-26. I volunteered myself and suggested Richard Winger who was already mentioned and Karen Kwiatkowski. Now that would be cool. Very cool.
That might be the idea, paulie. Root could be some sort of government plant. They are fully capable of something like that.
New Federalist, isn’t your mouse working?
One reason there is a political contributions system in place by the friggin government is to try to level the playing field-a little. Isn’t that a basic tenent of third party politics? Ross Perot. Mike Bloomberg. Need I say more?
None of the guests up to now are currently involved as Libertarian Party leaders, activists or candidates. I suggested to Root a few weeks ago that he have Joseph Dobrian, the Libertarian candidate for NYC Mayor on the show. There has been neither a response to me nor an invitation to Dobrian. http://www.manhattanlp.org
Give it a rest, please.
To be sure any contributions to me won’t have anything to do with the Republican Party.
All of you losers send some contributions & see what happens. You think running for office is a joke? You think Ron Paul would have accomplished the little he did without 35 million? A lot of his media attention was directly related to his phenomenal contributions. As I recall the story was Gary Nolan mortgaged his house & wound up losing it. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong here. Well as I’ve been trying to explain, I got cheated out of my house by a convicted lawyer slumlord. So I can’t do that. But I wouldn’t have anyway.
Knapp is going to wind up endorsing me, I bet.
Deft political answer, paulie.
lg, ok. Just thought I’d ask. Female fascination with rightists, particularly Hitler, fascinates me. So I had my skepticism about you anyway.
JT, well, send some contributions & see what happens.
“If your choice was between W.A.R. & Bob Milnes, which? & why?”
WAR because Bob Milnes is delusional and pathetic. WAR needs to better reach out to the libertarian left, but at least can afford to get to the convention on his own without begging for handouts.
cant run for VP , running for State Assembly Dist. 13 , Clark County NV , as usual…
everyone should take my fascination with Root as strategically wht is best for the Nevada LP.
As of right now I am endorsing Knapp.
However, he needs to either step it up on the media end like Root is doing, or we need another candidate more like Knapp, Ruwart and Kubby in ideology and more like Root in the amount of media outreach.
Otherwise, it will be Root regardless of what anyone says or thinks.
Here’s one for you paulie. If your choice was between W.A.R. & Bob Milnes, which? & why?
lg, should I take your fascination with Root as not interested in Progressive Libertarian Alliance possible vp?

Yes, by all means let’s give Dinosaur Fossil more airtime. & another 35 million too.
Doesn’t Joe Scarborough get to air his rehashed conservative hot air enough on his own show? Oh, he’s plugging his waste of time book. Never mind.
Well, libs have a clear choice between W.A.R., high energy, celeb hobnobbing, loser repeat or laid back, quite Bob Milnes with his Teddy Roosevelt centennial Strategy to win.
