Some background from a June 29th story at Green Party Watch, “McKinney & Free Gaza Leave Cyprus For Gaza”
From Free Gaza, the ship Spirit of Humanity has left Cyprus and is heading for Gaza. Green Party Presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney is on board with 20 other humanitarian workers, along with supplies. The last relief ship that McKinney was on for Gaza was rammed by the Israeli Navy and escorted to port. Will the Spirit of Humanity arrive at Gaza?
Tuesday, June 30th update from Free Gaza website:
Call off your attack dogs
By Free Gaza Team / Tuesday, 30 June 2009 01:15We just spoke to the passengers. Everyone is OK, but the situation is still very tense. They continue to be surrounded by Israeli warships which are threatening to open fire. The Israeli Navy is actively jamming all navigation systems in violation of international maritime law, endangering the people on board.
Former U.S. Congresswoman, Cynthia McKinney, speaking from on board the SPIRIT, stated, “I am extremely angry. We demand that the Israeli government call off their attack dogs. We are unarmed civilians aboard an unarmed boat delivering medical and reconstruction aid to other human beings in Gaza. Why in God’s name would Israel want to attack us and threaten our safety and welfare. I call on President Obama and the international community to intervene now to prevent this situation from escalating with potentially drastic results to the civilians on board.”
Since the boat’s navigation equipment is being jammed, it has turned westward in order to stay in international waters. The Captain and crew are working from the most ancient of navigation equipment…the compass to stay clear of Israeli waters.
At the Green Party Watch website and Free Gaza website, there are lists of action alerts and addresses to write to in order to support the free passage of the Spirit to Gaza.

The Free Gaza Movement chooses to ignore Israel’s security concerns. Check out (http://contemporaryantisemitism.blogspot.com/2009/06/israel-blocks-activists-boat-from.html) for more information and updated details on the latest boat mission.

So, ADL…simply sending relief to people is considered antisemitic?
Or at least according to your link, it is. But your link doesn’t explain WHY feeding hungry people is antisemitic.

Israel is overzealous about security measures. That sort of “BE SCURRED!” statism is a pain in the butt. I totally support Israel’s existence – turning back the clock on land wars is just silly, and anyone who says Israel should give back land to the Palestinians should start by giving back their own land to the native american tribes who once lived here. However, the Israeli government is overwhelmingly statist at this point, as are the Palestinian governments, and that means they’re all profiting a great deal off of continued hostilities.

Broadcast from ship just before seizure. Radio was blocked, so on a sat phone to a mobile (and broadcast out to the web via ipadio) so early part of call is slightly fuzzy)

Well, the good part is that the Israelis detained her, however briefly. The bad part is that she’ll be coming back her.
Meanwhile, the supplies are already being shipped into Gaza, which will be spared the sight of Cindy’s gigantic arse. This ugly Christian racist would do better to feed the hungry here in the inner cities, rural areas. She would do better to feed her fellow Christians, whom she and her co-religionists confine in the best Boer manner to reservations. Annual per capita income is under 6000 per year.
But that’s what the ChristoNazis like, starving people to death, growing gigantic arses, and finding every available means to diver attention from their doings.
Not worried. God’ll get her.

Amazing that volunteers seeking to bring food, medicine and clothing (and toys) to the people and children of the Gaza Strip are disparaged and slandered by supporters of Israel who went through the same experience during the pre-WWWII Nazi regime and also during the war in palestine at the hands of the British. How easy it is to slander others when you don’t agree and how worthless the slander of “anti-Semitism” has been made so insignificant by the double standard of hatred from extremist supporters of Israel.
Israel is not about justice. They are about victory and “winning” which means that if Palestinians continue to fight and reject Israeli arrogance, they may someday win too and maybe they will be better people in controlling Palestine than the Israelis whose hearts are so filled with hatred.
Disappointed in the viciousness of the Pro-Israel extremists and the silence of the alleged Israeli moderates.
